New Woodworking Beginnings

Part 1: Thursday, September 24, 2026, 6 PM - 9 PM

Part 2: Saturday, September 26, 2026, 9 AM - 5 PM

This woodworking beginning class has been very popular. The project stool will have two steps, a stable platform, and the first step can be raised to form the stool into a small chair. This will make it a very handy item to place in the bathroom or kitchen to allow a young child to reach the sink or it can be put in the family room and use it as small chair made just for them. Plus, it still works as step stool for adults to reach the top shelf in the kitchen or a closet. This class will introduce you to everything you need to progress from selecting wood for a project, to preparing it for finishing. It is designed for the person who knows nothing about woodworking but wants to learn the basics. We will use the table saw, jointer, planer, band saw, and other tools, as well as offering a discussion on several hand tools, all with an emphasis on safety. This is a great class for anyone wanting to see if woodworking is for them.

"Date Night" Pizza Cutter Woodturning

Friday, October 2, 2026, 6 PM - 9 PM

This date night class is a great way for you and your partner to learn woodturning and make a turned handle for a pizza cutter. In this class, we will start with a pre-cut wood blank. We will discuss the techniques of turning the wood on a lathe to the specific sizes needed for the handle for a pizza cutter, ice cream scoop, or cheese slicer kit.

Build a Flag Case

Saturday, October 3, 2026, 9 AM - 4 PM

This flag case will hold a 3x5 or 4x6 folded flag and is made from cherry. You will learn how to use the table saw, planer, jointer, and the router table. Your project will be ready to go except for the finish, which you will do on your own. This flag case will proudly display your loved ones memorial flag.
