Shipping

How is my shipping cost calculated?

Woodcraft passes on our actual discounted shipping costs for most packages based on shipping package weight. Shipping package weight is typically the actual weight of your package. If an item is overly large yet light, the shipping package weight may be increased above actual based on a volume calculation. Once an item exceeds a shipping package weight of 150 pounds, a truck carrier option is offered. Other instructions including expedited or International shipping are noted below.

When will my order ship?

Items that ship from the Woodcraft warehouse:
If you place an order by Noon EST Mon-Fri - your order will ship the same day.
If you place an order after Noon EST - your order will ship the next business day.
If you place an order on Saturday or Sunday - your order will ship the next business day.
The only exceptions are on holidays: Memorial Day; 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas - your order will ship the next business day.

Woodcraft ships most packages depending on shipping package weight via UPS Mail Innovations (a combination of UPS and delivery by USPS), UPS Ground, UPS Second Day Air or UPS Next Day Air delivery. Delivery time is usually 2 to 6 business days for shipments to the contiguous 48 States. If you have questions, our Customer Service Department 800-225-1153 can assist you in determining your shipping cost for your order. Alaska and Hawaii are shipped via UPS Ground unless otherwise indicated. Shipments outside the contiguous 48 states are charged actual shipping expenses.

For products marked "Ships Direct from Manufacturer" the order time varies as noted on the product page. These items are not eligible for rush shipping. Flammable items, batteries and magnets cannot be shipped by air. If your order contains a restricted item the entire order will be sent by ground.

For products marked 'Special Order' the order time varies by vendor:
Clifton Special Order: Delivery in 10-14 Weeks
Festool Special Order: Deliver in 7-10 Days
JessEm Products Special Order: Deliver in 4-6 Weeks
Pfeil Swiss Made Tools Special Order: Delivery in 3-6 Months
Robert Sorby Special Order: Delivery in 10-14 Weeks

Shipping Promotion Details

Occasionally, Woodcraft will offer a free shipping promotion. During the promotion, your package will be shipped free of charge based on weight and geography utilizing UPS Ground, USPS or a combination of the two services. Free Shipping offers exclude freight items and are only available in the contiguous 48 states. Not valid with any other promotional offer. Free shipping may only be available on Woodcraft.com.

What are your shipping rates?

Woodcraft uses a tiered shipping fee schedule based on the shipping package weight of the order and our discounted rates so that shipping costs are as low as possible while still offering great delivery service. For faster delivery see Rush Shipping. Shipments outside the contiguous 48 states are charged actual shipping expenses.

In some cases, we partner with a third party to service our international customers.

Once you have created your shopping Cart, choose the "Checkout" button. You will then be automatically transferred to a page where you will be provided with international shipping costs as well as duties and taxes for your shipment.

Upon completion of your order, your credit card will be charged for the entire purchase. Depending on the destination, we may ship the goods to a third party distribution facility where they will process the order and transport the goods to your international address. There are no additional fees or registration processes with this service.

Does it cost extra to ship large or heavy items?

Items weighing more than 150 lbs., or of an unusual size, must be shipped by common carrier. These are charged based on weight and our actual discounted rates. If the shipment is to a residence or if lift gate service is required, additional fees may be charged by the freight company. Truck shipments will be delivered as closely to your residence as is determined possible by the carrier. In some cases the carrier may not be able to provide delivery at your home location. In that case, you will be contacted by the carrier for instructions.

While most drivers deliver items to the ground level, it ultimately is your responsibility to arrange for your item to be removed from rear of the truck. Woodcraft's Customer Service Department at 800-535-4482 will gladly contact the freight company that services your area and make delivery inquiries or prepare an estimate prior to completing your order. Shipments outside the contiguous US are charged actual shipping expenses.

What to expect when your truck shipment arrives.

Truck shipments will be delivered as close to your residence as is determined possible by the carrier. In some cases the carrier may not be able to provide delivery to your home location, especially if you have a private driveway and/or gravel. In that case, you will be contacted by the carrier for instructions. While most drivers deliver items to the ground level, it is ultimately your responsibility to arrange for your item to be removed from the rear of the truck.

Once the item arrives, you will be asked to sign a Bill of Lading to verify that the item was delivered complete and with no apparent damage. If you see evidence of possible damage or suspect the item may have been damaged in transit, make a note on the delivery BOL just in case a problem is found later. If the item is clearly damaged beyond use, refuse to accept delivery of the item. If you have any questions about delivery, contact Woodraft Customer Service at 800-535-4482.

Can I specify the carrier that ships my order?

No, not for packages shipped by Ground carrier within the contiguous US. We generally ship lighter packages with Mail Innovations and heavier packages with UPS Ground. We need a physical address to minimize your shipping time. If you provide a P.O. Box the delivery may be delayed or come back to us as undeliverable.

Do you ship outside the contiguous U.S.?

Orders destined for AK, HI and any of the territories or possessions of the U.S. are shipped by UPS Ground. Regular shipping charges apply, but expect 4 to 6 weeks for delivery. Contact our customer service department if you need to arrange rush delivery to these areas. Festool products can only be sold in the 50 states.

We have partnered with a third party to service our international customers with the exception of Canada, Great Britain, Germany and Australia.

Once you have created your shopping Cart, choose the "Checkout" button. You will then be automatically transferred to a page where you will be provided with international shipping costs as well as duties and taxes for your shipment.

Upon completion of your order, your credit card will be charged for the entire purchase. We will ship the goods to the third party distribution facility where they will process the order and transport the goods to your international address. There are no additional fees or registration processes with this service.

I'm in a hurry. Can you ship overnight?

Yes. During the checkout process you'll have the option of choosing UPS 2nd Day Air or UPS Next Day Air. UPS 2nd Day Air and UPS Next Day Air rates are based on the shipping package weight of your order and the number of packages and are charged actual discounted shipping. UPS 2nd Day Air is your best bet if you don't need your order the very next day.

In-stock orders received by Noon EST Monday through Friday can be air shipped that same day. Woodcraft does not ship on Saturday, Sunday or the following holidays: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. If you order Friday before Noon EST, a UPS Next Day Air package will arrive on Monday. If you order Friday after Noon EST, a UPS Next Day Air package will ship on Monday and arrive on Tuesday. Mail Innovations consists of a combination of UPS Ground Package and delivery by USPS. Mail Innovations and Sure Post deliver Monday through Saturday. UPS Ground, UPS 2nd Day Air and UPS Next Day Air only deliver Monday through Friday.

Products marked "Ships Direct from Manufacturer" are not eligible for rush shipping. Flammable items, batteries and magnets cannot be shipped by air. If your order contains a restricted item the entire order will be sent by ground.

Orders being shipped to AK, HI and any of the territories or possessions of the USA are shipped by UPS Ground shipping and cannot contain flammable items, batteries or magnets. Please contact our Customer Service Dept. for more information on 2nd Day or Next Day Air shipping options.

Paint Care

Attention California, Colorado, Connecticut, District of Columbia, Maine, Minnesota, New York, Oregon, Rhode Island, Vermont and Washington Residents:

California, Colorado, Connecticut, District of Columbia, Maine, Minnesota, New York, Oregon, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Washington law requires the paint and coatings industry to develop a financially and environmentally sustainable solution to manage post-consumer architectural paint. Under the program, administered by Paint Care, the paint industry will make paint recycling more convenient by setting up hundreds of drop-off sites throughout the states where consumers can take their paint. Paint Care will also conduct outreach and education about keeping paint out of the trash , buying the right amount of paint for a project, and using up the remaining paint. Woodcraft is required by state law to collect a paint stewardship assessment from California, Colorado, Connecticut, District of Columbia, Maine, Minnesota, New York, Oregon, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Washington customers based on the size of the paint/coatings container. The fees are then forwarded to Paint Care and paid to the appropriate state agencies to fund the recycling programs. For more information go to
