Description: In this six hour class Ralph Strecker will help you grow from a whittler to a carver. You will be provided with a 4"x4"x12" block of basswood. There will be a subject 3-D project that each student will carve and keep to be finished at home. Bring as many carving tools as you have. See the Tools Required for the necessary minimum.

Description: This full day bowl turning class will concentrate on finding turnable green wood and preparing it to be turned. Harvesting methods will be covered along with what to look for in green wood. Mounting methods and drying methods will be covered in depth. With a little luck you will turn two green wood bowls during this class.

Beginning Knife Making

Description: Learn the techniques for crafting a full-tang, fixed blade knife. This six hour class takes you from start to finish beginning with selecting the basic components and finishing with a completed custom knife. Make your own hand-made rivets out of brass dowell. A knife blade, scales, spacer material, and pins are all included in the price of the class. Please bring a small belt/disc sander and small ball peen hammer if you have one available.
