Router Basics

Part 1: Thursday, October 31, 6 PM - 10 PM

Part 2: Friday, November 1, 6 PM - 10 PM

HANDS-ON. We have a great class that will teach all the ins-and-outs of how to use your Router. Both Router table work and hand-held Router work will be covered. Students will get hands-on experience and build a small storage box during this informative class. You will learn different techniques of cut, fence and miter gauge work, Router bit selection and basic Router safety. Cutting dados, rabbets, slots, mitered corners and edge trim will be easy. This is a VERY POPULAR class and will fill quickly so, sign up A.S.A.P.

Basic Woodworking

Part 1: Saturday, November 2, 9 AM - 6 PM

Part 2: Sunday, November 3, 9 AM - 6 PM

HANDS-ON. OUR MOST POPULAR CLASS!! ADULTS ONLY - NO YOUTH - 18 YEARS AND OLDER. This foundation course introduces you to the wonderful world of woodworking. You will learn how to set alignment and use the chop saw, table saw, jointer, planner, band saw, router table and a stationary sander. Safety will be emphasized with each machine. Each student will complete a hands-on project using basic joinery techniques. Types of wood and finishing techniques will also be discussed. This is a great class and it fills quickly every month so, sign up A.S.A.P. TUITION FEES ARE NONREFUNDABLE WITHIN ONE WEEK OF THE SCHEDULED SEMINAR.

Basic Turning

Part 1: Monday, November 4, 6 PM - 10 PM

Part 2: Tuesday, November 5, 6 PM - 10 PM

Part 3: Wednesday, November 6, 6 PM - 10 PM

HANDS-ON. Paul DeMars will teach this dynamic and fundamental, "3-session", class for all beginning turners. Session #1: Spindle Turning. This class is geared to help you get started on the lathe. Tool selection, handling, safety and machine basics will be covered. You will learn how to make cuts to produce beads, coves and other basic spindle shapes. Session #2: Bowl Turning/Face Grain. Perfect your basic skills by learning to turn a wooden bowl. Face plate turning, tool selection, techniques, sanding and finishing will be covered. Session #3: Bowl Turning/End- Grain. Learn to turn another style of bowl by it's end-grain. End-grain bowls are very different than face-grain bowls and will allow you to expand your turning skills. Paul is a great teacher and will provide each student with hands-on skills that will last a lifetime.
