Our Cutting Board Class Teacher, Doug Jones, has an awesome new class that will teach you how to combine Wood with the amazing Epoxy Pour Resins. Students will learn how the epoxy molds work, how to mix the epoxy and add color to create a one-of-a-kind Charcuterie /Cutting Board. The finish Board will measure about 1 x 8 x 18 inches. HANDS-ON. Students will learn two great methods for making a raised panel door. Learn features for rail and stile design and the many looks the panel can have. Each student will make two small raised panel doors - one with the table saw and one with the router table. Students will receive a notebook outlining both methods.

HANDS-ON. TURN BEADS AND COVES. Our bowl turning instructor, Michael Boyle, has come up with a new and awesome class that will help you learn the proper way to turn Beads and Coves. You will turn a Shop Mallet. Beads and Coves are the two fundamental designs used in all forms of turning. They are used to decorate all types of woodworking projects like bowls, candlesticks, tools handles and even finials. A finial can dress up the lid of a turned bowl or a lidded box. Students will learn turning techniques, tool selection, wood selection and finishing details. Traditional tools are recommended to cut the fine details but, carbide tools are welcome. Just be aware that carbide tools may not give you the fine details needed to make your design extra sharp. Class size is limited to only 4 students so, SIGN-UP A.S.A.P.

Tool selection, handling, safety and machine basics will be covered. You will learn how to make cuts to produce beads, coves and other basic spindle shapes. Session #2: Bowl Turning/Face Grain. Perfect your basic skills by learning to turn a wooden bowl. Face plate turning, tool selection, techniques, sanding and finishing will be covered. Session #3: Bowl Turning/End- Grain. Learn to turn another style of bowl by it's end-grain. End-grain bowls are very different than face-grain bowls and will allow you to expand your turning skills. HANDS-ON. The dovetail joint stands as the symbol of hand tool craftsmanship and for many is regarded as the most challenging test of their skills. Students will learn simple exercises that will give them great confidence with basic hand tools. HANDS-ON. Chisels, scrapers, planes and saws are the most fundamental woodworking tools in the shop. Howard will provide hands-on instruction on how to sharpen, adjust and use each of these great tools. Students will practice "old world" basic exercises with each tool. Tool #1: Learn basic chisel techniques and how to cut a mortise for a hinge faster than any machine takes to set up. Tool #2: Learn how to use a cabinet scraper as a step toward applying a fine finish. Tool #3: Learn how great using a hand plane can be. Plane an edge straight, flatten a board and cut chamfers with ease. Tool #4: Sharpen and reset your dovetail saw so it cuts perfectly. This class will teach the four finishes that will easily work for the home shop. Demos will show how to prepare the wood for finishing, using everything from the thickness planer, to cabinet scraper, to the proper way to use sandpaper. Then learn the easy steps to apply a traditional oil finish, spray lacquer, varnish and French polish. Students will receive handy take-home notes detailing each of these finishes.

HANDS-ON. Paul DeMars will teach this dynamic and fundamental, "3-session", class for all beginning turners. Session #1: Spindle Turning. This class is geared to help you get started on the lathe. Tool selection, handling, safety and machine basics will be covered. You will learn how to make cuts to produce beads, coves and other basic spindle shapes. Session #2: Bowl Turning/Face Grain. Perfect your basic skills by learning to turn a wooden bowl. Face plate turning, tool selection, techniques, sanding and finishing will be covered. Session #3: Bowl Turning/End- Grain. Learn to turn another style of bowl by it's end-grain. End-grain bowls are very different than face-grain bowls and will allow you to expand your turning skills. Paul is a great teacher and will provide each student with hands-on skills that will last a lifetime.

HANDS-ON. PLEASE NO BEGINNERS. BASIC TURNING SKILLS NEEDED. We have a Great Turning Class for anyone interested in learning how to turn a bowl. Michael will provide hands-on teaching as each students turns a medium-size bowl about 5-6 inches in diameter. Students will learn how to mount a bowl blank to the lathe using several different methods and which tools to use and how to use them to make clean efficient cuts. Basic Pen Turning Class

Pen turning on the lathe is a great hobby that can also make extra money. Chuck has a great hands-on approach to teaching and will show students all the steps of how to set up your lathe with the right mandrel and bushings for easy pen turning with great results. You will leave the class with a top notch looking pen and the skills needed to make many more.

Build A Spline Corner Keepsake Box

HANDS-ON. Mark Seay has come up with a great Table Saw Box Class. Mark is a wonderful teacher and his hands-on style of teaching really helps everyone learn about "how" to do woodworking! Students will make a small Keepsake Box from two contrasting woods on the table saw. The little box will have spline cut corners with contrasting wood splines to give it strength. The contrasting splines will give the box an extra sharp look. This is a really great looking little box and would make a wonderful gift for that someone special.

Our Cutting Board Class Teacher, Doug Jones, has an awesome new class that will teach you how to combine Wood with the amazing Epoxy Pour Resins. Students will learn how the epoxy molds work, how to mix the epoxy and add color to create a one-of-a-kind Charcuterie /Cutting Board. The finish Board will measure about 1 x 8 x 18 inches.
