Build An End-Grain Cutting Board

Part 1: Monday, September 21, 2026, 6 PM - 10 PM

Part 2: Wednesday, September 23, 2026, 6 PM - 10 PM

HANDS-ON. We have a GREAT KITCHEN CLASS from Doug Jones. Students will build, over the three nights, an End-Grain style Cutting Board from two contrasting types of wood. This 12" X 18" Cutting Board will be constructed from "End-Grain", not the Long-Grain of the boards. This traditional method of building a Cutting Board makes it VERY DURABLE. It will takes cuts from a knife and not show any damage for many years to come. Doug is a great woodworker and his hands-on approach to teaching will help you learn all the tricks for End-Grain cutting and glue-up. Band Saw Basics

Thursday, September 24, 2026, 6 PM - 10 PM

HANDS-ON. ATTENTION ANYONE THAT HAS A BAND SAW! Are you a beginner or old-timer and have a Band Saw and not sure if it is working just right? Then this is the perfect class for you. This class will begin at "step one" on Band Saw setup and tuneup. Wheel alignment, blade selection, blade installation, cool blocks vs bearing guides and fine tuning will all be covered. Each student will do a setup and then cut a piece of perfect veneer. DON'T UNDERESTIMATE THIS CLASS! It is a MUST TAKE for anyone, beginner or old-timer, that uses this great machine.
