Welcome to the exciting world of pen turning! This class is made for all ages eight and up. Starting with a nice piece of wood and some hardware, by the end of class you have a beautiful, functional pen you made yourself. Learn the fundamentals of creating a pen, from wood and tool selection to proper lathe techniques and finishing.
This class will help both the beginner and Intermediate develop the skills to bring a new project from concept through construction. In this two part class students will: - Develop a project concept. - Create working drawings, including detailed measurement and construction details. - Develop a materials list and cut sheet. - Utilizing the newly created plan, students will build their project. Project construction will utilize the use of the band saw, jointer, planer, table saw along with other shop tools. If you are looking to learn to design your own projects, this is the class for you!
Router Basics and Router Table have been consolidated into a single course covering the safe use and operation of both machines. Your instructor covers the safety considerations, equipment selection, bit selection and techniques to use these versatile tools. .
