Build A Shaker-Style End Table

Our woodworking beginnings class introduces you to preparing wood to completing a nice little stool using dowel pins. The Shaker-Style End Table repeats the prep step and introduces you to Kreg jig joinery, tapering legs, and how to handle wood expansion. This class takes you through all the prep steps and introduces you to another design feature-bottom tapering the top to give another dimension to the overall look of the table. Like our other beginning classes, this is a stand-alone class. You can be a true beginner and still end up with a beautiful piece of furniture! This table is made out of solid cherry and is sized to act as an end table that will beautifully compliment the sofa table that many of you have built in our previous classes. Bowl Turning Techniques

Saturday, April 18, 2026, 9 AM - 4 PM

In this class, we will take a comprehensive look at the process of turning a bowl. We will discuss methods of roughing out, mounting with chucks, turning, and finishing a bowl. Any and all questions during this process are welcomed. We will turn a small bowl using spur and live centers, chucks, and a friction drive. We will do our turning with traditional turning tools.

Introduction To The Router

Sunday, April 19, 2026, 10 AM - 2 PM

The router has a reputation as being a tool that is mostly used by advanced woodworkers, but this is not the case. Properly used, the router can be the most useful tool in your arsenal. This class is designed to introduce you to the many ways this tool is used, from edge jointing to edge decorating to dadoing and rabbiting, as well as sign making. Properly jigged, the router can also be used for flattening and thicknessing lumber and even cutting holes and disks. There will also be some discussion about router tables. Bring your safety glasses, ear plugs, your own router (so Joe can see what you have to work with), and be prepared to learn about the scope and versatility of this most useful tool.
