This class teaches you turning techniques by making a beer tap handle for yourself or a friend that brews. The handle will be about 10 inches tall made out of cherry. You will learn basic turning and finishing for turning and you will leave with a ready to use handle.
This woodworking beginning class has been very popular. The project stool will have two steps, a stable platform, and the first step can be raised to form the stool into a small chair. This will make it a very handy item to place in the bathroom or kitchen to allow a young child to reach the sink or it can be put in the family room and use it as small chair made just for them. Plus, it still works as step stool for adults to reach the top shelf in the kitchen or a closet. This class will introduce you to everything you need to progress from selecting wood for a project, to preparing it for finishing. It is designed for the person who knows nothing about woodworking but wants to learn the basics. We will use the table saw, jointer, planer, band saw, and other tools, as well as offering a discussion on several hand tools, all with an emphasis on safety. This is a great class for anyone wanting to see if woodworking is for them.
This date night class is a great way for you and your partner to learn to make your own cutting board (approximately 8” x 16”). In this class, we will start with pre-cut wood strips of exotic woods. We will also discuss the techniques of cutting the wood to specific sizes needed for the cutting board. The process will introduce you to the thickness planer and orbital sander. The cutting board will be finished with food safe mineral oil which will bring out the beauty of the wood. While the glue dries, we will have pizza to enjoy so bring your non-alcoholic beverage and make this a date night to remember.
Carl will be out front of the store demonstrating the scrollsaw. He will be cutting all kinds of things to show you what can be made with this tool. There is no registration required and the demo is free.
This meeting is open to anyone that has a CNC, is thinking about a CNC, or just needs help with Vectric software. We talk everything CNC and encourage you to bring in your projects, both good and bad, to tell us what you learned so others can learn from you. No preregistration is required and this is a free event.
