Ready to take your pen turning skills to the next level? This class is designed for those already familiar with pen turning basics but eager to refine their expertise. Craft a more complex pen from wooden or acrylic blanks. Students will leave with a pen they can be proud of and use for years to come. All materials are included.
Love to build, but hate to finish projects? With this Introduction course, the focus will be to give the student the experience of using different Penetrating Finishes & Topcoats. The teacher will guide the student in various applications penetrating finishes in the morning. Then in the afternoon the teacher will go over the application of various topcoats. The student will use various application methods that include brushes, rags & paper towels.
A method/sequence will be given so the student will be able to achieve predictable results.
The student is strongly encouraged to wear "old" clothes that they are not afraid of getting messy. Gloves will be provided for the student to use.
With Intro to Woodworking I, the student will learn the basic aspects, safety measures and uses of power tools and furniture assembly procedures. You will complete a small wall hanging cabinet. You will gain hands-on experience with basic joinery' how to "4 square" a board as well as hardware installation by the end of the last session.
Using your router to create projects gets a little easier with a jig or template. We’ll walk you through the basics how to rout with a template.
