With Intro to Woodworking I, the student will learn the basic aspects, safety measures and uses of power tools and furniture assembly procedures. You will complete a small wall hanging cabinet. You will gain hands-on experience with basic joinery' how to "4 square" a board as well as hardware installation by the end of the last session.
In this class you will learn the processes for safely turning a wooden bowl on the lathe. You will complete an attractive bowl that’s about six inches in diameter and two inches deep. It is HIGHLY recommended that you take the Introduction to the Wood Lathe class prior to enrolling in this class as we will be building on the skills learned in the intro class. All materials are included.
The instructor will guide students through the entire process of creating an eye-catching end grain cutting board, from selecting the right hardwood to applying the perfect finish. This stunning kitchen accessory may look challenging, but it's amazingly easy to make thanks to a simple trick for creating the lively geometric pattern. Over the course of these two-day sessions, participants will learn to use various power tools and master gluing and clamping techniques, ensuring they complete their own unique and beautifully finished pieces.
Using your router to create projects gets a little easier with a jig or template. We’ll walk you through the basics how to rout with a template.
