We will explain how to move from idea into design software, creating toolpaths, and finally to cutting simple parts on the machine. This also includes an overview of machine anatomy, function and features, as well as an open class curriculum style that encourages any and all questions. In this introductory CNC class we will explore the basic workflow and operation of CNC routers. This includes a step by step demonstration of the process. We will explain how to move from idea into design software, creating toolpaths, and finally to cutting simple parts on the machine. The class is focused on the basics of CNC and will provide an introduction to tooling, speeds and feeds, work holding, cutting strategies and beginner level design software.
This also includes an overview of machine anatomy, function and features, as well as an open class curriculum style that encourages any and all questions. We will be focusing primarily on Vectric software and be running a Next Wave Shark CNC router for demonstration, but the concepts will translate well to any other machine.

In this introductory CNC class we will explore the basic workflow and operation of CNC routers. This includes a step by step demonstration of the process. We will explain how to move from idea into design software, creating toolpaths, and finally to cutting simple parts on the machine. The class is focused on the basics of CNC and will provide an introduction to tooling, speeds and feeds, work holding, cutting strategies and beginner level design software.
This also includes an overview of machine anatomy, function and features, as well as an open class curriculum style that encourages any and all questions. We will be focusing primarily on Vectric software and be running a Next Wave Shark CNC router for demonstration, but the concepts will translate well to any other machine.
