He will also explain the various methods for mounting your blank on the lathe and discuss wall thickness, design and turning speed.

Learn the basics of woodturning on the lathe, through instruction with Hunter Tolley. He will cover safety issues, tool sharpening, sanding and mounting stock. You will gain knowledge through hands-on practice turning spindles and bowls.
HOLIDAY EDITION - Parent must accompany students under 18. This class is designed for those who are interested in beginning carving as a woodworking hobby. You will be introduced to a variety of basic carving knife profiles, how and when they are used, proper care and sharpening. You will also begin a carving project which can be independently completed with what you will have learned in class.

Minimum Age 18. Small shop or no Shop - no problem! Join us for this series in making small projects with minimal tools and materials. In this session using a single sheet of plywood, you'll make and take home a Workshop Wall Cabinet using Kreg's project plans.
Minimum Age 18. Learn the techniques of making a River Table on a smaller scale using various types of epoxy with wood. You will build the mold for the project, place the wood in it then pour the epoxy. The next week will be spent finishing your project. Finished project is approximately 18"x24".

Finishing can make or break your project. Spend the evening with Brian as he unravels the mysteries of completing your project. This class will include surface preparation and a variety of finishes, including oil and water based materials, shellac and varnish.

This will be a very hands-on experience and will cover many router topics including creating inlays, template work (i.e.: liquid catch groove on a cutting board), using an edge guide, tongue and groove, and combining bits to create decorative moldings and accents.
