In this class Ashley F will teach you how to build a river table (end table sized) top. She will cover the construction of a basic shop made mold. The process of preparing the material as well as the measuring, mixing, and pouring of resin. Uses of pigments, curing processes, and demolding results. Finally, preparing and finishing the table top for use. She will also touch on the different types of resin, variations in mold construction, as well as a variety of finishing techniques.

Sharpening Turning Tools

Bring your tools and learn to sharpen with basic bevels. Sharpening will be done with the One Way system or the Robert Sorby Sharpening System. Students will sharpen their tools and then turn with them to gain experience for sharp tool edges. No project will be made.

SketchUp Class

his is a beginning course on how to use Sketchup to design your woodworking projects. The objective of the course is to teach students the basics of Sketchup. We will walk through basic wall layout for projects, and a basic cabinet build within that wall area. Then each student will build a basic workbench and layout of a parts list. Students will need to contact the instructor at least 1 week in advance to get an email with their packet of items and software needed. Students will need to bring a laptop and a mouse.
