A successful box requires tight joints, precisely installed hinges, and great design. Lee will assist students as they tackle each step. In the end, not only will you have a handmade box, but also the skills to expand and create your own interesting designs. This class makes a wonderful gift to those woodworkers looking to solidify fundamental skills.
Have you thought about turning a beautiful project on the lathe? Now you can; select a bowl, vase, candlestick, or a goblet as your project. Louis will teach you the various parts of the lathe, proper safety, turning techniques, and a ton of useful tips. Finally, you will learn the various styles of finishing for your project. Not only do you learn to turn, but you take your chosen project home with you!
Would you like to learn to use a CNC? We will be using the software to actually create a personalized carved sign during the class that one lucky participant will get to take home! The class will focus on learning the basics of using the software and using the actual machine. The instructor has years of experience so this is your opportunity to bypass common mistakes beginners often make. It is recommended, but not required, that you have a laptop. Go to vectric.com and download the trial version of Vectric VCarve Pro the week before the class and if possible, bring your laptop with you to follow along. Each participant will be provided a USB thumb drive of the file we create to take home with them to carve their own sign. Sign up now since the class will only accept 8 participants.
