Intro to Chip Carving

Saturday, October 12, 10 AM - 2 PM

Chip carving is a unique and beautiful style of woodcarving. What looks intricate and complicated can be learned in a few hours using only a knife. From simple modern geometric patterns to the complex old-world style, this class will teach you the basics including how to apply a pattern to the wood, holding the knife correctly, and staining or waxing your finished project. Pen Turning Basics

Monday, October 14, 9:30 AM - 2 PM

Use basic spindle turning skills to craft two beautiful wooden ink pens. Learn all the components used such as pen blanks, mandrels, pen mills and the pen press. Next you will make a Slim Line pen, then choose to either make a Wall Steet II pen or a Cigar pen on the lathe. Pen turning is easy and enjoyable, and you end up with a couple of great ink pens. Beginner Bookcase for Couples

Part 1: Thursday, October 17, 6:30 PM - 9:30 PM

Part 2: Friday, October 18, 6:30 PM - 9:30 PM

This introductory class will provide couples with the opportunity to learn basic woodworking skills for building their own furniture. During the two evenings of this class, you and your partner will build a strong and sturdy bookshelf that will last for years! The class will provide an understanding of how to choose materials, the right tools, and proper woodworking techniques. Couples will walk away not only with a bookshelf they can be proud of, but the confidence to take on other projects of their own.. No Refunds for Cancellations/Reschedules within 7 days of Class date.
