Looking to get started in woodworking but not sure where to begin? This is the class for you! Louis will introduce you to the most common tools in the shop and assure you understand how to operate each of them safely. You will also learn the essentials about wood grain and movement as you move through the milling process. Students will be paired up during the class, and will leave with a cutting/serving board that will be a joy to show off. This is a hands-on class so come ready to get dirty, have some fun, and create something beautiful!! This is a two session night class. Turning Segmented Bowls

In this class, Louis will cover all of the aspects of turning a segmented bowl. Included in the class will be instruction on the difference between stacking segmented rings, making staves and wood lamination. You will learn the mathematics of design, cutting, and glue up. Using the table saw Louis will cover the various methods of cutting segments which will be glued into segment rings. At the end of the class, you will have a segmented bowl to turn.
