Discover the craft of knife handle making in this hands-on woodworking class where students will create their own custom Ulu Knife. Originating with Indigenous Arctic cultures, the Ulu Knife is known for its curved blade and versatile design used for chopping, slicing, and food preparation.
During this hands-on class students will learn about the different types of routers, router bits, maintenance procedures, and safety tips. After some open discussion about how a router can be an asset in your shop, you will move into actual operation. It is time for a few skill drills and learn to apply proper techniques to get a smooth profile on your project. This is a great refresher class and stepping stone to the afternoon class which is Router Table Basics. No Refunds for Cancellations/Reschedules within 7 days of Class date.
During this class students will learn how a router table can be a valuable asset in the shop. This is a hands-on class where you will learn proper safety techniques, set-up, bit selection, and maintenance of your router table. If you have ever thought about making your own custom moulding/trim then this class is a must. In fact, after some open discussion you will learn how a couple of bits can produce a variety of profiles. Then you will actually mill a custom piece of moulding/trim. This is a great class for anyone wanting to get the most out of their router table. No Refunds for Cancellations/Reschedules within 7 days of Class date.
