In this class you will make a heart-shaped box and lid using a scroll saw. The box will be made of pine with a walnut veneer plywood accent. Contact store for scroll saw availability. Students should plan on bringing their own saw if they own one. Each student is responsible for supplying their own safety glasses and hearing protection.
Learn how to make a handle and hammerhead in the style of Thor's Hammer. The hammerhead will be shaped on the table saw, and the handle will be shaped on the lathe. Students are required to bring their own hearing protection, safety goggles & dust mask.
In this hands-on class you will be introduced to tools like the table saw, jointer, planer, band saw, drum sander and router. Students will construct a multi-colored cutting board using hardwoods like Maple, Beech, Cherry, Alder, Oak and Walnut. General and machine safety, wood choice and adhesive selection will be covered. AND, you will take home a cutting board fit for the finest gourmet kitchen! Each student is responsible for supplying their own safety glasses, hearing protection, note pad and pencil.
Using your router to create projects gets a little easier with a jig or template. We’ll walk you through the basics how to rout with a template.
Don’t just kick the tires. Learn how to properly keep your bandsaw in top working order.
Stop by to turn a pen for our troops. No prior turning experience required. We are doing a kickoff event this weekend to get a jump start on this year’s goal of 125 pens. We’ll have everything you need to turn a pen that we will donate to our troops in honor of their sacrifice and service. No purchase necessary. Just come, have fun, and turn a pen.
