During this 3-part class, participants will learn how to use a table saw, jointer, thickness planer and mitersaw while making a laminated cutting board. Hard maple and cherry will be used for the laminations. Limited use of a router will also be involved.
Elevate your woodworking by learning to cut the pinnacle of woodworking joints, the hand cut dovetail. Hand cut dovetail joints are strong, beautiful and can differentiate your work from the run of the mill. The dovetail joint is not that difficult to execute once someone shows you how. In this hands-on class you will learn how to do layout and marking, sawing and chopping, and paring to your lines for a good fit. The class will cover both through and half-blind dovetails. If your chisels are not sharp, consider taking the Hand Tools Sharpening class taught at Woodcraft.
Interested in learning how to turn a pen? You will get expert instruction and take home the Wall Street II pen that you made start to finish in this informative class. Begin by selecting the kit and wood of your choice, tour the pen area and become familiar with the other kits and projects that can be done on a lathe. If you have turning tools, feel free to bring them, however that is not a requirement.
