Many woodworkers consider the router the best tool in their shop. This "beginner's" router class, will cover which type of router is best suited for you, the 5 must have router bits and their uses, correct router cutting techniques, key accessories, router tables, maintenance and SAFETY. If you own a router or you're thinking about buying one, this class is tailor-made for you.
If you're looking to start a new hobby or refresh some old carving skills, this is the class for you. We are offering a beginning wood carving class taught by longtime carver Duff Greenwood. Students will learn wood & tool selection, the basic four carving cuts, proper techniques, safety and how to carve a Comfort Bird. Written instructions and plans will be included. There is a material cost of $10 for the basswood carving block. Students need to bring a sharp carving knife with a one inch blade or purchase one at the store. This is a great class for beginning carvers
With little or no lathe experience, you can make your very own beautiful pen in 3 hours. Resident expert Alex Birkett has taught hundreds of students the art of pen-making in just one evening class. Your very own pen makes a great gift for almost any occasion. And the great part is, once you've made one, you can virtually make any style you wish. Without a doubt, this is our most popular class.
