Holiday Spoon Carving

Just in time for Christmas, this class taught by longtime carver Duff Greenwood will review wood & tool selection, the basic four carving cuts, proper techniques, safety and how to carve a WOODEN SPOON. Written outline, instructions and plans will be included. There is a material cost of $10.00___ for the basswood carving blank. Students need to bring a sharp carving knife with a blade of 1” to 1-1/4” and a sharp palm gouge ¼” to 3/8” wide or purchase these at the store. Another great class for beginning carvers.

Turn A Beautiful Christmas Ornament

Learn to turn a traditional woodturner's Christmas ornament. In this class we will turn and assemble a three piece Christmas ornament with a hollow globe. We will discuss several shapes and options to help you make an ornament of your own design. The resulting ornament will be ready for the tree, or can be displayed on an ornament holder year round. This is an excellent skill building exercise incorporating a small hollow form and spindle turning.
