This class will discuss the fundamental aspects of sharpening traditional steel turning tools on a bench grinder. It will include choice of grinder and grinder wheels, set up of the Wolverine grinding jig and how it can bge configured for sharpening the many various sharpening tools. We will also discuss freehand grinding and some other grinding systems.
Learn to cut beautiful dovetail joints using a jig and router. This class will feature hands-on practice with a dovetail jig. The instructor will outline the strengths and weaknesses of the jig and students will practice making dovetails and pins. This class is a must for anyone looking to build their joinery skills. If you have one, bring your Porter Cable jig and router with you.
This class is an introduction to woodworking. It features the basic tools to make wood straight, flat and square. Students will use the jointer, planer, table saw, miter saw, and router table. Glue up and clamping techniques will also be covered. The output of this class will be a charcuterie board.
