Learn with Chuck Engstrom - professional turner -how to prepare and mount a blank, size a tenon, chuck mounting, rough vs. finishing cuts with a "fingernail" bowl gouge. Then, reverse mounting, hollowing with gouges and scrapers and tricks for finishing the base. With Chuck's guidance you'll soon be turning out elegant bowls. After lunch, you will have an opportunity to apply the basics covered in the morning session and enhance your skills. Learn even more techniques for added control with the versatile bowl gouge. You practice hollowing methods needed when forming an inward turned rim.
