Journey On Joinery (For The Beginner)

Part 1: Saturday, May 23, 2026, 9 AM - 5 PM

Part 2: Sunday, May 24, 2026, 9 AM - 5 PM

This introductory class will teach you about six different types of popular joints: a drawer lock joint, a mortise and tenon joint, a dowel joint, a box joint, a dado joint, and biscuit joinery. You will create a serving tray using each of these six joints, and will use tools such as the mortiser, router table and dado blade on a tablesaw. Join Jerry as he shows you how to construct each joint and learn his insights as to "how to select the appropriate joint for various woodworking projects." Jerry's instruction and guidance will ease any hesitations you may have had about joinery and you'll leave with your own 'hands-on reminder' (i.e., the serving tray)!

End Grain Cutting Board Workshop

Join us for a hands-on weekend workshop where you’ll craft your own heirloom-quality end grain cutting board from start to finish. Over two days, you’ll learn the full process — from milling and gluing up your hardwoods, to crosscutting, re-gluing, planing, and sanding your final pattern to perfection. Along the way, you’ll gain confidence using the jointer, planer, and table saw, and learn why end grain boards are prized for their beauty and durability. Leave class with a stunning, food-safe cutting board that’s as functional as it is artful — and the skills to make many more. $75 Materials Fee Payable to Instructor **finished projects will vary and be unique to their creators**
