Intarsia is a technique where beautiful pictures are created in wood using different species and grain patterns for contrast. In this hands-on class, each student will be creating a Koi fish out of various colored woods. The cutting is done on a scroll saw, then each individual piece is shaped using carving tools and sandpaper to create depth. Once all the pieces are cut, shaped, and sanded they are glued up on a backer board to create the picture. All tools and materials included.
