Students will learn to build a 10" x 10" Shadow Box with a glass front. During this class Michaela will teach you how to build a frame for your 3D artworks, trinkets, souvenirs, etc. You are welcome to bring the item or items you plan to put in your 10" x 10" shadow box. We will discuss different ways to finish or mount within your Shadow Box.
This is a great opportunity to make your own 3D Stair Step End Grain Cutting Board using only three different woods - maple, cherry and walnut. You will learn step by step how to make this cutting board that will really impress your friends and family. You will cover basic bandsaw mechanics, tuning the bandsaw, and making perfect straight or angled cuts. At the end of the class each student will have a fantastic 3D Stair Step Cutting Board made with their own hands. This class is designed for woodworkers of all skill levels. We have a great class for anyone interested in Woodcarving. Students will learn how to carve with basic techniques, how to sharpen your tools and how to select that perfect piece of wood. Using only a knife, students will carve a 3D Basswood project. This is an excellent beginner class for adults and children who are considering Woodcarving as a new and fun hobby.
