Pen Turning Basics

Use basic spindle turning skills to craft two beautiful wooden ink pens. Learn all the components used such as pen blanks, mandrels, pen mills and the pen press. Next you will make a Slim Line pen, then choose to either make a Wall Steet II pen or a Cigar pen on the lathe. Pen turning is easy and enjoyable, and you end up with a couple of great ink pens. Folding Rocking Chair

Are you ready to take your woodworking skills to the next level? You will build your own truly unique folding rocking chair under the hands-on guidance of the chair’s designer. Made from high quality cherry and maple woods, it is sure to become a family heirloom. In the class, we will use the bandsaw, table saw, miter saw, drill press, drum sander, drill, router, and hand tools. Some pieces will be pre-cut before class. If you have some basic woodworking experience, come join us! Class size is limited to 4 students.

Intro To The Lathe

Have you thought about turning a beautiful project on the lathe? Now you can, in this class we will turn a bowl. This will introduce you to end grain, as well as side grain and the challenges they bring. Louis will teach you the various parts of the lathe, proper safety, turning techniques, and a ton of useful tips. Finally, you will learn the various styles of finishing for your project. Not only do you learn to turn, but you take your project home with you! No Refunds for Cancellations/Reschedules within 7 days of Class date.
