Learn the fundamental skills necessary to properly and efficiently use hand tools. Students will not have a project to complete for this course – the takeaways are the proficiency and dexterity required to get the most out of their tools. This course is delivered under the assumption that students have never picked up a hand tool, although even experienced woodworkers may learn something new. Planes, chisels, saws, spokeshaves are the main tools that will be introduced, but others can be demonstrated if available.
