Every woodworker knows that getting straight, true, and square cuts are half the battle in any woodworking project. In this class, we will teach you how to set up and correctly use a Jointer, Table Saw and Planer. While learning and using the fundamentals of these machines, you will make a small, lidded box that you will be proud of. Introduction To Woodturning

Saturday, August 15, 2026, 9 AM - 5 PM

Join us in the shop and learn the basics of lathe turning and how to correctly turn spindles. This class is designed for the beginning turner as well as those students who have done some turning but may still have some questions about spindle turning. Each student will turn a practice spindle, and a small woodworker's mallet to take home. Students will learn the parts of the lathe, turning tools, proper turning techniques, finishing techniques used for turning, and SAFETY while turning.

Sharpening Turning Tools

If you have ever tried to sharpen a gouge, you know how frustrating it can be. We will show you how to save yourself time, frustration, and money, and learn how to grind your turning tools right the first time. Your instructor will demonstrate various ways to sharpen your turning tools using different sharpening systems.
