If you have ever wanted to carve three-dimensionally but didn't know how to start or make your piece more life-like, this is the class for you. Whether you want to understand how to carve a realistic face, bears, horses, wolves or other animals, this class can help you do that. The class will offer direct instruction for novice carvers and guidance for those who are more advanced. The goal of the class is to make three-dimensional carving accessible and enjoyable for all carvers. Carvers should come with at least a 4 x 10 x 12 block of wood (basswood or butternut are easiest to work with). Carving tools should be of similar sizes & shapes as those listed.

In this hands-on class, you will learn saw set-up, proper operation, proper blade selection, and how to fine-tune your scroll saw. You will learn how to make internal and external cuts and do several practice exercises that increase in difficulty as you go.
