Hand Cut Dovetails

Part 1: Thursday, August 21, 6 PM - 10 PM

Part 2: Friday, August 22, 6 PM - 10 PM

HANDS-ON. The dovetail joint stands as the symbol of hand tool craftsmanship and for many is regarded as the most challenging test of their skills. Students will learn simple exercises that will give them great confidence with basic hand tools. Howard will provide personal attention and hands-on practice for everyone to learn the layout, sawing, chiseling and assembling of the joint. Both full and half blind dovetails will be covered and each student will receive a set of complete notes. Please bring your own tools: Marking Gauge, 6" Or 12" Ruler, Small Or Medium Try-Square, Sliding Bevel, Dovetail Saw, Bench Chisels (1/4", 3/8", 1/2") and a Bench Or Carvers Mallet. Basic Woodworking

HANDS-ON. OUR MOST POPULAR CLASS!! ADULTS ONLY - NO YOUTH - 18 YEARS AND OLDER. This foundation course introduces you to the wonderful world of woodworking. You will learn how to set alignment and use the chop saw, table saw, jointer, planner, band saw, router table and a stationary sander. Safety will be emphasized with each machine. Each student will complete a hands-on project using basic joinery techniques. Types of wood and finishing techniques will also be discussed. Build a Epoxy Resin Charcuterie Board

HANDS-ON. Our customers have asked for this class so, here we go!!! Our Cutting Board Class Teacher, Doug Jones, has an awesome new class that will teach you how to combine Wood with the amazing Epoxy Pour Resins. Students will learn how the epoxy molds work, how to mix the epoxy and add color to create a one-of-a-kind Charcuterie /Cutting Board. The finish Board will measure about 1 x 8 x 18 inches.
