Turn An Acrylic Cigar Pen

Sunday, May 17, 2026, 10 AM - 3 PM

Students will learn how to turn and customize their own Cigar style pen with an emphasis on Acrylic/alternate materials. This differs from Wood pens with the following points: tool selection and edge profiling best suited for turning acrylics, drilling bits and strategies to counteract meltdown of the blank and creating a clean thru-hole, pen tube selection and dealing with semi-translucent pen blanks, finishing/polishing with Micromesh and plastic polish. Devon Palmer will walk you thru the steps to create a pen you will be proud to give as a gift or keep for yourself! The day of the class, students can purchase accessories (pen kits, micromesh, drill bits, bushings, mandrel, press, clamps, etc) related to the class at a 10% discount. This is a great opportunity to stock up to make pens!

Make a Medallion Wall Art

Thursday, May 21, 2026, 6 PM - 9 PM

In this class you will make a beautiful turned wall sculpture. Accomplished artist and teacher, Neil Donovan, will guide you through the basic design and execution of 2 or 3 colorful medallions that will be mounted on an attractive 16” vertical panel. This class is for beginners through accomplished artists and turners. You will be able to hang this on your wall and show off your talent! No previous experience is required.

Make a Shaker Style Side Table

Part 1: Saturday, May 23, 2026, 9 AM - 5 PM

Part 2: Sunday, May 24, 2026, 9 AM - 5 PM

In this two day class, students will make a Shaker Side Table from solid Cherry with instruction from Neil Donovan. Standing 29" inches tall and 21" x 21" wide this table is constructed using Kreg Pocket Hole Joinery and features tapered legs cut on the table saw using a jig. The Power Tools students will be using are the table saw, compound miter saw, jointer and drum sander. Finishing options will be discussed. A 10% discount is offered to students wishing to purchase finishing materials for their tables that they will complete at home.
