Simply Shaker: Step Stool

Our Simply Shaker Series gives students a chance to make beautiful pieces of furniture that follow tenets of the Shaker style: simplicity, utility, and craftsmanship. All of the projects we'll tackle in this series will feature clean lines and sturdy construction and students will be encouraged to show close attention to detail as they build their furniture. In this session, students will build a traditional and timeless Step Stool, often referred to as a "Two-Stepper", and will feature exposed dovetail joinery and a functional arch. Some of the tools used during the class include the jointer, planer, table saw, handheld router, dovetail jig, bandsaw, and router table. OPTIONAL UPGRADE: The tuition covers the cost of Cherry lumber, but students can pay an additional $50 to make their stools out of Walnut.

Shop Jigs & Fixtures: Spline Jig

Monday, June 22, 2026, 6 PM - 9 PM

Take this class to make your own spline jig and learn how to use it to reinforce your miter joints! Adding splines to your miter joints increases the strength and durability of the joint as it creates long grain to long grain contact, and it also adds a decorative look to the project. Each student will leave with a completed jig and instructions on how to adapt it for their specific table saw.

Festool Farmhouse Table

Join us for this hands-on class where you'll learn to build a classic farmhouse table from start to finish —using the precision and efficiency of Festool tools. This workshop is perfect for both passionate hobbyists and aspiring furniture makers who want to deepen their skills while working with professional-grade equipment. Over the course of this class, you'll gain experience with essential techniques like joinery, planing, cutting, and sanding, all while exploring the unique capabilities of Festool's track saws, Domino joiners, dust extractors, and more. We'll cover everything from wood selection and layout to final assembly and finishing, with a strong focus on craftsmanship and safety. By the end of the class, you'll not only walk away with a beautiful, handcrafted farmhouse table—you’ll also gain confidence in using Festool tools to elevate your future woodworking projects. This table features a 1 3/4" thick Ambrosia maple top with breadboard ends, and a massive base with 3" thick legs. Mortise and tenon joinery is used to attach the legs. Festool knock down connectors allow the base to be easily disassembled. Table is 35" x 72" but some minor adjustment in size is possible to fit your room.
