Edge Grain Cutting Board

Part 1: Monday, February 23, 2026, 6 PM - 9 PM

Part 2: Wednesday, March 4, 2026, 6 PM - 9 PM

Take this class to make a beautiful edge grain cutting board! Edge grain boards are made by arranging wood strips so that the edges of the strips form the cutting surface. This construction style imparts remarkable durability to the board, and holds up much better to cutting and chopping than simpler face grain boards. Students who take this class will receive expert guidance with using several of the core tools of the wood shop as they create their board. NOTE: Species selection varies from class to class, and students will be able to choose and create their own design using available materials. This means that no two boards will be the same and you can make a one-of-a-kind piece!

Bandsaw Basics

Wednesday, March 4, 2026, 6 PM - 9 PM

Take this class to learn how to properly set up and safely use a bandsaw. We will discuss the different types and sizes of bandsaws, how to select the proper blade, and how to tune the tool to attain the best results. As time allows, we will also discuss and demonstrate various jigs and accessories that can increase the versatility of the bandsaw.

Private Wood Turning Class
