Simply Shaker: Dovetailed Wall Cabinet

Our Simply Shaker Series gives students a chance to make beautiful pieces of furniture that follow tenets of the Shaker style: simplicity, utility, and craftsmanship. In this session, students will build a small wall cabinet that features two types of dovetail joinery, adjustable shelves, and a small drawer. Some of the tools used during the class include the jointer, planer, table saw, handheld router, dovetail jig, and router table. OPTIONAL UPGRADE: The tuition covers the cost of Cherry lumber, but students can pay an additional $50 to make their cabinets out of Walnut.

Free Kids Workshop - 2026 Family Day

In this year's free kids workshop, kids ages 3 - 18 will make a garden/tool tote that features box joints and pinned dado joinery! Project highlights include: personalizing with a laser engraver, assembling box joints, drilling holes, driving wooden dowels with a mallet, using a handsaw to cut the dowels, and sanding all edges. Parental involvement may be required depending on child age and team member availability. Pinewood Derby - KIDS

Register today for our Annual Pinewood Derby! We'll have three classes: Kids, Adults, and Freestyle, with prizes for each class along with Best of Show and Overall Winner. KIDS CLASS: - Contestants under 18 years old (parental assistance is ok) - Cars must adhere to traditional rules including: a maximum weight of 5.0 ounces, a length not exceeding 7 inches, and a width of 2-3/4 inches, using only the BSA-provided kit wheels and axles. Cars must have at least 3/8-inch ground clearance, wheels must be free-wheeling (no bearings/washers), and the car must not ride on springs.
