Kip Christiansen: Intro to Spindle Turning

Monday, October 6, 9 AM - 4 PM

Kip Christensen, renowned woodturner with over 40 years of experience, will teach you several principles involved in producing a clean cut while turning wood. This workshop will help beginning turners jump-start their skills and help intermediate turners move to the next level more efficiently. It will also contain useful information for those interested in teaching others how to turn wood.

Kip Christiansen: Turning Christmas Ornaments

Tuesday, October 7, 9 AM - 4 AM

Participants will learn to turn several Christmas tree ornaments that are fast and fun to make. In the process they will use a variety tools, turning techniques, and chucking methods. Students will complete an oirnament stand, lighthouse, parting tool tree, Plumb Bob & New Woodcraft kit ornament.

River Table Top

Part 1: Tuesday, October 7, 6 PM - 9 PM

Part 2: Tuesday, October 14, 5 PM - 9 PM

Learn how colored epoxy adds a creative zest to wood projects. Here we will make a small table top, approx. 22" x 16", which will make a nice coffee table or end table. First day: make the mold, prep the wood, mix the liquid acrylic and color agent, and pour it into the mold. Second day: After the acrylic has cured we will remove the wood from the mold and use the planer, jointer, and drum sander to clean up the surfaces. Legs can be added for additional purchase. Materials included in tuition. No refunds for Cancellations/Reschedules within 7 days of class date.
