CNC the XYZ:…an introductory seminar into the world of the CNC. This three block program includes: an introduction to software, an overview of CNC mechanics and how to cut a v-carve sign. Learn how colored epoxy adds a creative zest to wood projects. Here we will make a small table top, approx. 22" x 16", which will make a nice coffee table or end table. First day: make the mold, prep the wood, mix the liquid acrylic and color agent, and pour it into the mold. Second day: After the acrylic has cured we will remove the wood from the mold and use the planer, jointer, and drum sander to clean up the surfaces. Legs can be added for additional purchase. Make a floating shelf in this class and learn the steps involved so you can add multiple to your home, office or other space! In this class you will learn basic milling steps in preparing your wood for becoming a shelf, how to safely use machines such as the jointer, planer, table saw, miter saw, and drill press. This shelf will be a solid hardwood shelf, with traditional floating shelf hardware for a clean and seamless look. All materials are included in the price. Spray Finishing Techniques

Spraying a finish on your project is like the holy grail of woodwork finishing, yet the process intimidates so many people for fear of ruining all of their hard work. This class is designed to take the guesswork out of the finishing process with hands-on practice and will teach you: types of finish to spray, thinning of finish, and types of spray guns. River Table Top

Part 1: Tuesday, March 4, 6 PM - 9 PM

Part 2: Tuesday, March 11, 5 PM - 9 PM

Learn how colored epoxy adds a creative zest to wood projects. Here we will make a small table top, approx. 22" x 16", which will make a nice coffee table or end table. First day: make the mold, prep the wood, mix the liquid acrylic and color agent, and pour it into the mold. Second day: After the acrylic has cured we will remove the wood from the mold and use the planer, jointer, and drum sander to clean up the surfaces. Legs can be added for additional purchase. Tablesaw Techniques & Safety

This class is designed for those who want to learn the basics of table saw use and for those who want to increase their knowledge of the many available accessories and jigs. Intermediate Woodworking for Women

If you enjoyed the Introduction to Woodworking for Women class and want to take it up a notch, then this is the class for you. The goal will be to include intermediate level woodworking techniques and tools which may include dado stacks, table saw sleds, and/or joinery techniques. Specific projects and wood choices may vary, but having fun and taking home a great experience is required. Prerequisites: some woodworking experience, Introduction to Woodworking or Basic Cutting Board Class.

Epoxy Coffee Table with Steel Legs

Make a show piece for your living room. Learn to build a mold, prep live edge wood, clamping, mixing and coloring epoxy. Second day we will remove from the mold, sand, finish and mount legs. CNC The XYZ

Tuesday, March 18, 5 PM - 8:30 PM

CNC the XYZ:…an introductory seminar into the world of the CNC. This three block program includes: an introduction to software, an overview of CNC mechanics and how to cut a v-carve sign. During the software portion, participants will create a sign using Vectric VCarve and develop a toolpath. Followed by instruction on how to secure a blank, the parts, the operation and safe use of a CNC. A demonstration of a V-Carved sign concludes the seminar. This will be a "hands on" finishing class where students will learn easy and quick finishes. These take no special mixed ingredients, using only simple, off the shelf materials you can achieve 3-4 different useful finishes that will really express how you feel about your work! Bandsaw Set-Up

Monday, March 24, 6 PM - 9 PM

Learn how to select a blade and adjust the tension, set the guide blocks/bearings, check wheel alignment, change tires, switch blades and use the tilting table. In addition, some cutting techniques such as re-sawing and circle cutting will be covered as well. This is a hands-on class so come prepared to practice and get dusty. Materials included in tuition. Knife Making

Kumiko Japanese Woodworking

Thursday, March 27, 5 PM - 9 PM

Kumiko - An Introduction to Japanese Woodworking A great class for all levels of woodworker. We will make the quintessential Japanese asa-no-ha pattern as a coaster each student can take home at the end of the class. Learn basic hand tool skills from sawing accurately, measuring and marking, planning, and chiseling. Materials included in tuition. Chess Board

Part 1: Saturday, March 29, 9 AM - 5 PM

Part 2: Sunday, March 30, 9 AM - 5 PM

Work with Brian to learn the techniques behind making a beautiful Chess Board using Peruvian Walnut and Red Oak. The box is Cherry. This class will cover making a 13” x 13” chess board and a box to store chess pieces (class does not include the pieces). You will use the table saw and glue-up parts to make a checked pattern. All rough milled lumber is provided and as a class you will mill up the pieces necessary to make your own board. You will make miter joints on the table saw for the box corners. The router table will be used to make rabbet joints for the chess board and the bottom of the box to set in.
