Make an eye-popping charcuterie board with an epoxy poured center. Building molds, prepping wood, clamping and mixing for the pour are just a few things you will learn in this class. Ensuring a keen edge is crucial for both skilled craftsman and safety. Students will acquire the skills to establish and preserve the sharpness of a chisel, plane iron and card scraper. The learning process involves a combination of discussion, demonstrations and hands-on practice, allowing students to actively engage with various sharpening tools, sharpening methods and sharpening of as many hand tools as time permits. By the end of the course you will grasp the concept of sharpness, know how to attain it, and understand the methods for its maintenance. Materials included in tuition. CNC the XYZ:…an introductory seminar into the world of the CNC. This three block program includes: an introduction to software, an overview of CNC mechanics and how to cut a v-carve sign. During the software portion, participants will create a sign using Vectric VCarve and develop a toolpath. Followed by instruction on how to secure a blank, the parts, the operation and safe use of a CNC. A demonstration of a V-Carved sign concludes the seminar. PC laptop and external mouse required for class. Software does not work on Mac OS. Materials included in tuition. No refunds for Cancellations/Reschedules within 7 days of class date.
