Add some beautiful wooden spoons to your kitchen utensils collection. Learn the basics of shape and design, using the spoke shave and carving chisels to create an amazing spoon that you can actually use. Materials included in tuition. Students will be introduced to basic router functions, router bits, and their appropriate applications. Hands on experience will allow students to become familiar with the adjustment and basic freehand operation of the router. If you have your own router, please bring it. Gary's basic bowl class concentrates on the craft of making a wooden bowl for everyday practical use. The basics of wood selection, mounting the wood to the lathe, design elements and the use of bowl gouges to turn and shape the bowl. Sanding and finishing will also be discussed.
