Master the core skills of traditional handtool woodworking . This comprehensive series introduces sharpening, planing, sawing, chiseling, and dovetail joinery — all leading to a final project where you’ll build a dovetailed box by hand. Each class builds on the previous one, helping you develop accuracy, confidence, and craftsmanship with every session. Whether you’re new to hand tools or ready to refine your fundamentals, this course offers a complete foundation in classic woodworking technique. This program includes all five hand-tool classes and is offered at a bundled price.

Cutting Boards

Friday, April 24, 2026, 9 AM - 5 PM

The instructor will guide the student through the choosing of the right hardwood all the way to what finish to put on your completed cutting board. You will be using the Planer, Drum Sander, Bandsaw, Disc & Spindle Sander & Hand Router by end of day. The instructor will teach you how to properly glue up a segmented cutting board, how to clamp w/ even pressure & choose the best finish.

Introduction to Cabinet Making

Part 1: Saturday, April 25, 2026, 9 AM - 5 PM

Part 2: Sunday, April 26, 2026, 9 AM - 5 PM

In this hands-on class, each student will complete a 15" face frame style base cabinet with drawer and a Shaker-Style door. Cabinet styles and design considerations will be discussed that can be adapted for several different applications including kitchen cabinets, entertainment centers, and bookcases. Construction of the cabinet carcass, face frame and drawer will employ the Kreg Joinery system and construction of the raised panel door will utilize the traditional cope and stick method. Additional joinery techniques for the carcass, face frame, drawer and door will be discussed. You will learn the safe and proper use of the table saw, compound miter saw, router table and finishing sander as you complete the project.
