It will include choice of grinder and grinder wheels, set up of the Wolverine grinding jig and how it can bge configured for sharpening the many various sharpening tools. We will also discuss freehand grinding and some other grinding systems.
Learn to cut beautiful dovetail joints using a jig and router. This class will feature hands-on practice with a dovetail jig. The instructor will outline the strengths and weaknesses of the jig and students will practice making dovetails and pins. This class is a must for anyone looking to build their joinery skills. If you have one, bring your Porter Cable jig and router with you.
This class is an introduction to woodworking. It features the basic tools to make wood straight, flat and square. Students will use the jointer, planer, table saw, miter saw, and router table. Glue up and clamping techniques will also be covered. The output of this class will be a charcuterie board.

You will need a cut resistant glove and a thumb guard. Students must be at least 13 years old and accompanied by an adult over 18 years of age.

Students will learn techniques required to build a cutting board: how to make dead-on straight cuts and accurate angled cuts on the bandsaw or table saw, and how to plane, sand, glue, and clamp the cutting board. In this 3-day course, the kids will learn safety and prepping materials for projects on the first day. The second day, they will be making a bird/bat house. On the final day, they will be making a tool box and get to personalize the box with use of our Xtool. They will become familiar to the hand tools required for our class. Parent or Guardian must be present during the classes. The tuition for the shop is including all 3 dates. This workshop is designed for kids entering Kindergarten to entering 5th grader.
