A sharp turning tool is the turner's best friend. If you are having difficulty achieving smooth cuts and relying on scraping rather than cutting then this is the class for you. In this class you will learn a quick and easy way to repeatedly and consistently sharpen all of your wood turning tools using the Wolverine sharpening system on a slow speed grinder. The Vari-grind jig will be demystified and you will be shown a simple method to sharpen all of your bowl and spindle gouges. Sharpening the spindle roughing gouge, skew, and scraper will also be discussed and demonstrated. Bring your turning tools - as many as you want to sharpen to practice your skills in class.

It is a large Charcuterie Board roughly 1” x 12” x 20” and normally valued starting around $150. In this informative class you’ll learn everything from wood preparation and resin molds to types of resins, conditions and details for pouring all the way through the sanding and finishing process. It will cover the complete end to end process. The class will consist of two different days, with a two-hour session each day. The first session will consist of prep through pouring, and the second session will complete everything from de-molding though finishing. The one day seminar is geared towards explaining and demonstrating the basic concepts and processes behind sanding and finishing. The course will cover all aspects of wood preparation, coloring and finishing. The goal is to give students a basic understanding of the different techniques for applying color, and finish by hand. Topics covered include wood selection, sanding and preparation of material, pore filling, oil and water based dye stains, and how to finish. Additionally, it will demonstrate techniques for enhancing grain and how to identify the proper protection of future projects. All supplies will be provided and students need only a basic knowledge of sanding, wood species, and finishing terminology.

Are you making best use of your closet space? Learn how to design a closet organization system that meets your needs and makes best use of your space. You’ll learn how to design a basic system of hanging bars, shelves and drawers customized to store the clothes, shoes and items that you use your closet for. You’ll learn how to make basic drawers using pocket hole joinery. Each participant will make a simple pocket hole joinery jig to quickly and accurately assemble basic drawers, then use this jig to assemble a drawer. Participants will keep both the jig and drawer for future use. We’ll discuss suggested building materials and methods, as well as options to apply a finish to your closet organization system. Hand tools are a necessary part of woodworking project. After machining, you will need to smooth the surface of your work piece with a hand plane or maybe remove a small piece of wood to make the joint fit with a bench chisel. In this class different hand tools will be discussed and demonstrated. How to use a bench chisel to make a crisp edge, how to smooth and remove milling marks with a smoothing hand plane are just a few examples of what will be discussed and demonstrated. Multiple topics will be discussed such as: What are the different types of hand planes? What is the first hand plane to purchase? What is a good hand saw? How to use a marking gauge? These and other topics will be discussed to start you on your way to a great experience in purchasing and using hand tools.

Welcome to the world of wood and epoxy where you’ll be hands-on designing and making your own custom epoxy charcuterie board, that you'll take home with you. It is a large Charcuterie Board roughly 1” x 12” x 20” and normally valued starting around $150. In this informative class you’ll learn everything from wood preparation and resin molds to types of resins, conditions and details for pouring all the way through the sanding and finishing process. It will cover the complete end to end process. The class will consist of two different days, with a two-hour session each day. The first session will consist of prep through pouring, and the second session will complete everything from de-molding though finishing.
