Discover the world of making beautiful pictures with wood. In this class Saman will teach you how to design, cut and assemble varies pieces of wood to make a beautiful picture of a bird on a branch. The finished piece can then be either displayed on it's own or incorporated into a box lid or other project. Shaker Hall Table

This 3-day class utilizes a combination of hand tools and power tools in the construction of a classic Shaker Hall Table. The table measures 14" x 30", by 32" high. The class is intended for the beginner/intermediate woodworker who is interested in furniture making. With the instructor’s guidance each student will process rough lumber to a finished table. Various skills and techniques will be used in the construction of the table, including building and fitting a dovetail drawer, creating tapered legs, beaded aprons, mortise and tenon joinery and grain matching are a few the student learn while making the Shaker Hall Table. Time permitting finishing will be discussed. Class size is limited. $230 Materials Fee Payable to Instructor

Maximizing Your Bandsaw

Join Alex Snodgrass, the leading authority on the bandsaw, for an in-depth seminar on unlocking the full potential of your bandsaw. Participants will learn how to fine tune a bandsaw for smoother cuts and greater accuracy. He will also demonstrate how Carter Products accessories extend the tool’s range. Guides, mag fence, blades, inserts and a circle cutter will be highlighted for their role in precise and efficient work. The seminar will also include a brief segment on Titebond® glues, focusing on the optimal types for various woodworking projects. This seminar lays the groundwork for Alex’s box building class, offering students the chance to learn directly from a respected authority in woodworking.

Build A Pin Box and Two-Drawer Wave Box

Saturday, June 20, 2026, 9 AM - 4 PM

Renowned bandsaw master Alex Snodgrass will lead a hands-on class devoted to building two striking projects: a four-drawer pin box and a two-drawer wave box. Instruction covers setup, cutting techniques and safe shaping methods while Alex guides participants step by step and answers questions throughout the process. He also reveals the secrets behind his signature designs, including magnetic boxes, push button boxes, the gravity pin box and an articulated snake. Additionally, participants will receive exclusive access to a private video showcasing the completed projects, extending the learning beyond the classroom. By the end of the day, students not only complete two boxes but also gain the rare chance to learn directly from a legend in the craft, leaving with the skills and confidence to create almost any style of bandsaw box.

Beginning Pen Turning

Interested in wood turning, but don't know where to start? Why not start with a beginning class in pen turning? Pen turning is a fun and easy way to get your feet wet in the wood turning world. Students will be guided through the steps required to turn and finish a pen. The instructor will demonstrate the various tools required to make a pen and the types of finishes to apply to your finished piece. At the end of the class, each student will go home with their own finished pen. $20 Materials Fee Payable to Instructor.

Basic Cabinet Class

We, as a class, will build an upper cabinet with adjustable shelves, edge banding, face frame and a flat panel door. We will discuss the installation process and explore the 32mm European cabinet system, upon which modern European hardware is based. Build an elegant jewelry box from cherry and birdseye maple while sharpening the precision skills that define fine woodworking. This project features a hinged lid and three fitted interior trays. Instruction emphasizes accuracy, layout, and hand tool proficiency — with focused use of the shooting board for speed and precision. Select power tools will also be used. Box making is an exercise in accuracy and thoughtful craftsmanship. The skills developed in this class transfer directly to cabinetry and fine furniture work. $75 Materials Fee Payable to Instructor
