With just a few tools and a small amount of almost any hardwood, burl, or exotic wood, we will make a beautiful gift, or craft show item. We will go over chucking methods and techniques to create your design, end grain hollowing, and sanding and applying sanding sealer, and friction finish or poly. Each Student will take home a box to show off to their friends and family. Some woodturning experience is preferred.

Introduction to Lasers for Woodworking

Upgrade your woodworking skills incorporating the use of laser etching and engraving. Basic overview/understanding of XTOOLs software. Learn how to create your own woodworking LOGO. Understand some of the applications such as engrave pens, Christmas ornaments, and logos. Use the laser to layout/cut wood for classic scroll saw projects. Learn to personalize your woodworking projects. For the class we will be utilizing both the XTOOLS F1 and F1 Ultra. We will give a basic understanding of the differences between the two. There will not be a need to bring a computer however if you are able to download the XTOOLS software on a laptop prior to the class you are welcome to bring it with you. The intention of this class is to introduce you to the endless possibilities that incorporating a laser into your shop.
