Building a Traditional Pegged Stool

"Build a timeless low-height pegged stool in this immersive two-day woodworking workshop focused on traditional craftsmanship and foundational chairmaking techniques. While the form may appear simple, this stool introduces many of the core concepts found in historic staked and post-and-rung furniture. Students will work extensively with hand tools including hand planes, chisels, layout tools, and handsaws, while also using select modern machines for efficiency. Along the way, students will learn how to shape tapered octagonal legs with hand planes, drill compound leg angles, and create strong round mortise-and-tenon joinery secured with traditional wedges. The class also introduces essential chairmaking concepts such as rake, splay, and resultant angles foundational skills used in Windsor and stick chair construction. By the end of the workshop, students will leave with a completed handmade stool, practical hand-tool experience, and a deeper appreciation for traditional woodworking techniques that have lasted for centuries.”

Introduction To Turning Pens

Learn how to make the professional pens found in fine gift shops. Mark will instruct you on the complete process from wood selection to the final finish. After completing this class you will take home a completed pen to show off. Soon you will be designing and making these works of art for family and friends.

Introduction To Woodturning

The safe use of a wood lathe and turning tools will be emphasized. Choice of wood, elements of design, ways of holding the wood onto the lathe, proper turning techniques and tool sharpening are discussed and demonstrated. Each student will actually turn a project to take home.

Antique Peppermill

Sunday, September 6, 2026, 1 PM - 5 PM

Learn how to make an antique peppermill with a lathe turned wooden blank and a peppermill kit. Randy will instruct you on the complete process from wood selection to the final finish. After completing this class you will take home a completed peppermill to show off. Soon you will be designing and making these works of functional art for family and friends.

Resin Casting Colored Pen Blanks

Wednesday, September 9, 2026, 5 PM - 9 PM

In this class, Randy will teach you how to mix, pour and cast you own pen blanks using Alumilite resin and powders to make your own special pen blanks. Randy will show you the procedures for using a pressure pot and air compressor. You will cast 4 pen blanks per student in this class. The skills you will learn will allow you to start making your own blanks at home and will carry over to many other things. You will leave the class with the four blanks you created and the four pen blank mold you used in class. No refunds for Cancellations/Reschedules within 7 days of class date.

End Grain Basket Weave Cutting Board

This is possibly one of the simplest 3D cutting boards to make. Tom will present tips on precise glue ups, cutting on a table saw, flattening your boards on a planer, sanding, routing, and finishing. We supply all the materials, and you will go home with a 3D cutting board.

Handcut Dovetail Joinery

Dovetail joinery is one of the most iconic and respected techniques in fine woodworking, valued for both its strength and timeless beauty. This full-day, hands-on workshop is dedicated to mastering handcut dovetails, with a focus on both through dovetails and half-blind dovetails. Students will learn the essential skills behind accurate layout, marking, sawing, and chiseling, along with techniques to achieve clean, tight-fitting joints. We’ll cover tool selection, grain awareness, and step-by-step methods to build confidence working by hand. Throughout the day, students will practice each stage of the process and complete sample joints they can take home as a reference for future projects. Introduction To Bowl Turning

Learn the fundamentals of bowl turning. This will include bowl design, blank preparation, chucking, shaping of outside, hollowing of inside and finishing. You will also learn the proper use of bowl turning tools and how to easily sharpen them. You will be proud to take home and display or use the bowl you make in class.

Randy will be utilizing Exotic Hardwoods and lead you through the process to complete this project. You will take home a completed Cheese Slicer Board that you can be proud of to show off to your friends and family. These make great gifts for all occasions. Build A River Table

Part 1: Thursday, September 17, 2026, 5 PM - 9 PM

Part 2: Thursday, September 24, 2026, 9 AM - 5 PM

Come and take this class with Randy and learn how to cast a wavy edged river table. You will build the tabletop by casting the river section of the table on the first day of class. The second day you will come back and demold and shape the top. You will then sand, finish and polish the top and attach the legs. You will be using table saw, routers, planer and sanders to finish your table. You will take home a one-of-a-kind end table that you can be proud of. The techniques learned in this class will serve you well in future epoxy casting projects.

Beginning Knife Making

Part 1: Friday, September 18, 2026, 5 PM - 9 PM

Part 2: Saturday, September 19, 2026, 9:30 AM - 11:30 AM

Learn the fundamentals of knife kit construction to include shaping and installing knife handles or “scales”, custom pins, or rivets provided in the kits, sanding and finishing the handles to produce a knife you’d be proud to own or gift away. In the class you will use a drill press, bandsaw, oscillating sander, and clamps and epoxies. All materials and knife kits are included in this class of four hours over two consecutive days. Each participant will take home the knife created in this class. Please bring your own safety glasses and dust mask

Epoxy Poured Charcuterie Board

Part 1: Sunday, September 20, 2026, 1 PM - 4 PM

Part 2: Sunday, September 27, 2026, 1 PM - 4 PM

Make an eye-popping charcuterie board with an epoxy poured center. Building molds, prepping wood, clamping and mixing for the pour are just a few things you will learn in this class. Fun With Resin

Monday, September 21, 2026, 5 PM - 9 PM

Join Randy for an entry level class in Epoxy Resin. You will learn about the different types of epoxy and pigments to color the epoxy. During this intro course Randy will take you through a successful pour on a small Epoxy project that you get to take home (once that epoxy is cured!) The skills learned in this class will give you the confidence to get started in making many things with epoxy.

This full-day hands-on workshop will cover everything you need to know about both handheld routers and router tables, from basic operations to important tips and techniques. Students will learn how to safely and efficiently use routers for edge profiling, dadoes, rabbets, mortises, template work, and joinery. We will explore bit selection, feed direction, router setup, and safety protocols. By the end of the class, participants will have hands-on experience with both freehand and routing table. You will work with a variety of samples and small projects to help reinforce your learning.

Introduction to Lasers for Woodworking

Upgrade your woodworking skills incorporating the use of laser etching and engraving. Basic overview/understanding of XTOOLs software. Learn how to create your own woodworking LOGO. Understand some of the applications such as engrave pens, Christmas ornaments, and logos. Use the laser to layout/cut wood for classic scroll saw projects. Learn to personalize your woodworking projects. For the class we will be utilizing both the XTOOLS F1 and F1 Ultra. We will give a basic understanding of the differences between the two. There will not be a need to bring a computer however if you are able to download the XTOOLS software on a laptop prior to the class you are welcome to bring it with you. The intention of this class is to introduce you to the endless possibilities that incorporating a laser into your shop.

End Grain Cutting Boards Made Simple

If you have been woodworking for any time at all you have scrap pieces of wood in your shop. We will show you how to repurpose your scraps into a cutting board. This class is designed show that end grain cutting boards are more about the process than our current woodworking skill set. We will take you through layout/design, building, and finishing your (potentially)first end grain cutting board. WARNING (making end grain cutting boards can become additive). We supply all the materials, and you will go home with a beautiful cutting board.

Fundamental Woodworking: Build A Small Table

This class is for the beginner woodworker. In this class we will use fundamental woodworking principles. We will cover how to read plan drawings and use a combination of power tools and hand tools.
