Ready to start working on those cabinets you've been putting off? Then this is the class for you. Learn how to design and construct face frame cabinets. Methods and techniques will include various options for constructing, joining and attaching face frames to the cabinet carcass. Rick will also cover techniques for building and hanging a door, as well as building and mounting a drawer. Each student will walk away with a lower cabinet complete with a door and drawer. Sign up early as space is limited and this class does fill up. This is an intermediate class and is designed for students with experience working on the table saw, miter saw, and router. Once done with this class you will know the types, components, tools, and accessories of the lathe. Bill will demonstrate the various basic cuts and you will then get hands on practice of the fundamentals of turning, including bead, cove, and fillet cuts.

Students will learn the essential steps of surface prep, choosing the right stain and finish, and applying those finishes by hand. By the end of the course, students will know how to evaluate a wood surface, chose the right finishing approach, avoid common mistakes, and produce clean, durable finishes suitable for furniture, cabinetry, and general woodworking projects.

The class will cover proper blank prep, mounting on the mandrel, turning techniques, sanding, finishing, and assembly of both a Wall Street II and a Slimline style pen. Once complete, you will have 2 finished pens that you get to take home to show off to all your family and fiends. This is a very popular hands-on class. !!!WARNING!!! Through Dovetail Workshop with Rob Cosman

This workshop is one day of intensive hand cut, through dovetailing instruction and hands-on practice that will take your dovetailing skills to the next level. The workshop is a skills-based learning experience that focuses on mastering, hand-cut, through dovetails. Rob teaches his dovetail offset method and shares his tips and tricks using the tools he designed for making dovetails. The learning goals are that by the end of the workshop, you can layout, cut, and assemble directly from your saw cuts, perfect to near perfect through dovetails. Tuition covers all instruction, workbench, vise, lumber, glue, and lunch with Rob. Rob will be donating 100% of his fees to his Purple Heart Project. All students will be required to bring the following tools to the class: Rob's dovetail saw, Rob's dovetail marking knife with saw tooth blade, Rob's Shawn Shim offset tool, fret saw, dovetail marker, 1/4" and 1/2" chisel (sharpened), mallet, wheel style marking gauge (sharpened), 6" combination or solid square, spring divider.

Bandsaw 101 - Boxes

Saturday, April 25, 2026, 10 AM - 5 PM

Besides the router, the bandsaw is the most versatile power tool you can own. This class will teach you how to properly set up and safely use the saw. We will cover the different types and sizes of bandsaws, how to select the proper blade, and how to tune the tool to achieve the best results. You will get hands-on experience making straight and curved cuts on a flat board as well as practice re-sawing techniques. For the second half of the class, each student will use what they've learned to complete a small bandsaw box.
