Learning how to restore antiques and fine furniture can open up the opportunity to preserve heirloom pieces or resell that cool flea market score. Taught by Kevin Southwick, a nationally renowned finishing expert and owner of Southwick Furniture Conservation, this class will focus on identifying pieces that should be restored or left in original condition. Kevin will also cover proper finish removal or cleaning, dealing with veneer problems, and re-finishing.

Join Master Turner Dan Ernst for this fantastic class and learn to throw ribbons of wood over your shoulder! Students will make a bowl (or two) while learning the nuances of how to hold the tools to make a variety of cuts in green, freshly cut wood. Dan will show you the basics of lathe operation, safety, sharpening, as well as how to select and prepare wood specifically for bowl turning. Frameless European Cabinetry

This course will equip you with the skills to master frameless, European-style cabinet construction. We will cover the entire process, from design and layout to milling and assembly. You'll learn how to construct cases, drawers with under-mount hardware, and cope-and-stick doors with Euro hinges and drawer fronts. The class will include both hands-on learning and demonstrations. To maximize our time together, some materials will be pre-milled (you won’t build your own cabinet in class). By the end of the course, you will have a solid foundation in cabinetry, enabling you to confidently design and build your own projects. CNC Cribbage Board

Ready to dive into using CNC machines? In this hands-on class, you’ll learn how to use Vectric V-Carve to import a project file, prepare it for cutting, and run a CNC router with confidence. Keepsake Box Making for Beginners

Box making is a timeless craft – its simple shape is both versatile and useful. In this hands-on class, you’ll build a mitered-corner box using basic shop tools, then create a “spline jig” to reinforce the corners with contrasting wood keys. These add strength and visual flair. As artisan woodworker Craig Gilbert guides you through this process, he’ll also share additional creative ways to personalize your box and make it distinctly your own. If time allows, you’ll also explore finishing techniques with a take-home product. 101 Lathes

Designed for the novice turner, this class will introduce you to the wood lathe. Chris will take you step by step through machine set-up, tool safety and usage. No specific project will be completed, but the students will make a number of cuts while learning various tool techniques. Sharpening will be briefly covered.

Chip Carving for Beginners

Ready to take your woodworking projects to the next level? Enhance them with chip carving! This fun technique is all about using simple triangular or curved cuts to create mesmerizing geometric designs, or even cool lettering and images.
