Keepsake Box Making for Beginners

Box making is a timeless craft – its simple shape is both versatile and useful. In this hands-on class, you’ll build a mitered-corner box using basic shop tools, then create a “spline jig” to reinforce the corners with contrasting wood keys. These add strength and visual flair. As artisan woodworker Craig Gilbert guides you through this process, he’ll also share additional creative ways to personalize your box and make it distinctly your own. If time allows, you’ll also explore finishing techniques with a take-home product. At the end of the class, you’ll have a box you’ll be proud to show off—and a tool you’ll use again and again to add flair and style to your future work. Note: a $25 materials fee (cash or Square) will be collected by the instructor at time of the class.

Cabinet Making

Saturday, January 10, 2026, 10 AM - 4 PM

Focusing on the traditional North American style, this class will get you on the right path to proper face frame cabinetry construction. From design and layout to milling and assembly, you'll learn the process of making face frames and casework, drawer making, and finally, cope and stick doors and drawer fronts. All aspects of this class are hands-on, so you will learn by doing. You will leave this class with a solid foundation so you can start designing and creating your own cabinetry project quickly. Note: A $25 materials fee payable to the instructor at time of class.

CNC Sign Making

Sunday, January 11, 2026, 10 AM - 2 PM

In this hands‑on beginner CNC class, you’ll learn the basics of Vectric V‑Carve as you design a custom sign that reflects your style. Then, head to the shop floor to watch your creation come to life on the CNC machine. Whether you’re brand‑new to digital carving or just curious about CNC tools, this class gives you the skills—and confidence—to start making your own projects. Laptops with software are provided. Note: A $10 materials fee (cash or Venmo) is payable to the instructor at the start of class.
