We don't need no stink'n sharpening! The benefit of this class is that you can focus solely on the creative process of bowl turning since carbide tools are amazingly durable. We'll explore the range of carbide tools available and how to use them as well as provide basic lathe techniques to help you turn the perfect bowl.

Traditional Bowl Turning: From Log To Table

Join Master Turner Dan Larson for this fantastic class and learn to throw ribbons of wood over your shoulder! Students will make a bowl (or two) while learning the nuances of how to hold the tools to make a variety of cuts in green, freshly cut wood. Dan will show you the basics of lathe operation, safety, sharpening, as well as how to select and prepare wood specifically for bowl turning.

Intro To the Woodshop

Part 2: Sunday, May 5, 10 AM - 4 PM

Are you new to woodworking? Want to brush up on basic skills? The Instructor will teach how to safely use the essential power tools in any woodshop. Students will learn how to set up cuts and operate a table saw, planer, jointer, band saw, miter saw, and drill press. These skills will be put into practice to create a charcuterie board which can proudly be shown off to family and friends. On day two go beyond the basics and create a beautiful slide top keepsake box! You will practice skills learned in order to gain confidence using essential power tools. Use this foundation to accomplish your woodworking project goals.
