Bowl Turning with Carbide Tools

We don't need no stink'n sharpening! The benefit of this class is that you can focus solely on the creative process of bowl turning since carbide tools are amazingly durable. We'll explore the range of carbide tools available and how to use them as well as provide basic lathe techniques to help you turn the perfect bowl. Note: A $20 materials fee (cash or check) will be collected by the instructor at the beginning of class.

Designed for the novice turner, this class will introduce you to the wood lathe. Chris will take you step by step through machine set-up, tool safety and usage. No specific project will be completed, but the students will make a number of cuts while learning various tool techniques. Sharpening will be briefly covered.
