Wood and Epoxy Cheese Board

In this two-day class, students will learn a variety of skills while creating their own beach themed board! It can be used as a charcuterie board, cheese board, or art for display! In the first workshop, Josh will teach basics of epoxy, and students will learn mixing/pouring skills and design techniques. During the second workshop, students will learn how to cut and finish their cured product. The instructor will walk students through shaping, planing, sanding and polishing their artwork from start to finish.

Basic Bowl Turning

Whether you're a beginner or someone wanting to brush up on your turning skills, this basic bowl turning class is for you! This class will cover shop safety and the proper use of a lathe by making a basic bowl from start to finish. To minimize drying times so that the student can finish their bowl in a reasonable amount of time, we will be using dried bowl blanks. We will also discuss various finishes to add some personalization to your bowl. Once finished, you will be able to enjoy your bowl for years to come. Note: This class utilizes Easy Wood Tools with carbide cutters. If you prefer classic High Speed Steel (HSS) tools, bring your own or inquire within when attending class.

Lazy Susan & Water-Based Finishing

Are you ready to understand the basics of how to hand finish the project you just spent hours working to complete? Then water-based finishing is the perfect class for you! In this class, you will assemble, prepare and finish a lazy susan to take home with you. The goal is to give students a basic understanding of the different techniques and processes for applying water-based finish. Additionally, Justin will share tips from his 20 years experience, and demonstrate techniques for enhancing grain and identifying the proper protection for future projects. No prior knowledge or experience necessary.

Epoxy River Serving Board

Make an eye-popping serving board with an epoxy poured center. Board will be approximately 15.7"x9.8"x1". Using molds, prepping wood, clamping and mixing for the pour are just a few things you will learn in this class. The second class will involve removing the mold, clean-up, sanding and finishing. Materials included in tuition.

In this class, you’ll learn the process of casting Australian burls in resin, preserving their intricate grain patterns and unique features. Once your castings are set, you'll move on to the exciting step of turning them into elegant, small vases using a lathe. By the end of the class, you’ll have a finished piece you can be proud of, and the confidence to continue exploring the world of resin casting and wood turning. Woodworking Fundamentals I - Cutting Board

This class is designed for beginners who want to learn how to safely use the core tools of the wood shop. During the first half of the class, we will focus on how to properly flatten and size lumber using the table saw, jointer, and planer. Once the material is flat and square, we will discuss glue up methods as we join the material to create a cutting board. The second half of the class will focus on safely using the router and router table to shape the board and apply a decorative edge. Students will leave with a completed project and a great foundation for starting their woodworking journey!
