Make an eye-popping serving board with an epoxy poured center. Board will be approximately 15.7"x9.8"x1". Using molds, prepping wood, clamping and mixing for the pour are just a few things you will learn in this class. The second class will involve removing the mold, clean-up, sanding and finishing. Required Tools

NOTE: Students who took the Casting Pen Blanks class and use their blanks will receive a $20 gift card. This is a great introduction to turning acrylic or resin on a lathe, with the end product being a pen or pencil to keep that you made yourself from start to finish. Previous turning or woodworking experience is helpful but definitely not required. We cover the basics of safety, the parts of a lathe, lathe tools, and accessories, as well as everything you need to start making acrylic or resin pens, bottle stoppers, Christmas ornaments, and other turned creations! During the five hour class, students in the class will learn how to select and cut pen blanks, drill and mount the blanks on the lathe, turn the pen barrels, wet sand, and assemble a pen. And the skills learned in this class will easily transfer to other spindle turning classes or projects.

You will use the table saw, miter saw, router table, hand router, and random orbital sander. We will discuss design, techniques, and proper tool use, and you will learn the math required to create an appropriate list of cuts. Come with a notepad and a pencil; you’ll need to take plenty of notes. Wood will be provided for the project.

Part 1 of 3: The first step in building cabinets is constructing the "box" or carcass. In this, hands-on, class you will learn the proper techniques to create a strong and durable cabinet carcass. Joinery and assembly techniques for most cabinet applications will be discussed. The Kreg Jig will be demonstrated and used for the face frame assembly. Bring a notepad and a pencil, you’ll need them. Wood will be provided for the project.
