Pizza Date Night - Crushed Stone Inlay Ring

Required Tools

Each class purchase is for 2 spots/rings and pizza/drinks. This date night class is a great way for you and your partner to learn to make your own crushed stone or opal inlay rings, using the lathe to help with the process. Ring sizes are required upon signing up for the class so if the store doesn't have them we can get them ordered for you (if we have to order your size, make sure to allow time to come in)! The instructor will bring several colors of inlay materials to choose from, to make your ring unique! Each student will come away with some familiarity with using a mandrel and bushings on a lathe, as well as some basic jewelry inlay techniques, not to mention their own beautiful ring, and the knowledge to make more!

Beginner

Acrylic Pen Turning

Required Tools

This is a great introduction to turning acrylic or resin on a lathe, with the end product being a pen to keep that you made yourself from start to finish. Previous turning or woodworking experience is helpful but definitely not required. We cover the basics of safety, the parts of a lathe, lathe tools, and accessories, as well as everything you need to start making acrylic or resin pens, bottle stoppers, Christmas ornaments, and other turned creations! During the five hour class, students in the class will learn how to select and cut pen blanks, drill and mount the blanks on the lathe, turn the pen barrels, wet sand, and assemble a pen. And the skills learned in this class will easily transfer to other spindle turning classes or projects.

Epoxy River Serving Board

Required Tools

Make an eye-popping serving board with an epoxy poured center. Board will be approximately 15.7"x9.8"x1". Using molds, prepping wood, clamping and mixing for the pour are just a few things you will learn in this class. The second class will involve removing the mold, clean-up, sanding and finishing. Materials included in tuition.

Day one, students will prep their wood, learn about molds and pour their epoxy. Day two, students will demold their work, cut to size, shape, sand and apply cork backing. Students will leave with a finished product they'll love to show off!

Stair Step 3D Cutting Board

Making a 3D cutting board doesn’t have to be intimidating! Join our resident cutting board craftsman, Jody Greene, as he walks you through how to make the perfect gift for the holidays! Using only three different woods - maple, cherry, and walnut – Jody will guide students through the process by teaching techniques required to build a cutting board: how to make dead-on straight cuts and accurate angled cuts on the bandsaw, and how to plane, sand, glue, and clamp the cutting board. Topics to be covered include: bandsaw mechanics, correct blade tension, accurate angle cuts, gluing techniques, end-grain planing, end-grain pattern alignment, food-safe finishes, and care and maintenance of cutting boards. By the end of the day, each student will have a fantastic 3D cutting board made with their own hands! This class is designed for woodworkers of all skill levels. From the beginner to the advanced woodworker, every student will leave the class with a 3D cutting board and a smile on their face. Register today – limited spots available!

Previous experience is required* Unlock the beauty of Australian burls and transform them into stunning, one-of-a-kind pieces of art in this hands-on woodworking class. In this class, you’ll learn the process of casting Australian burls in resin, preserving their intricate grain patterns and unique features. Once your castings are set, you'll move on to the exciting step of turning them into elegant, small vases using a lathe. By the end of the class, you’ll have a finished piece you can be proud of, and the confidence to continue exploring the world of resin casting and wood turning. Each class purchase is for 2 spots, a cutting board to make together and pizza/drinks. This date night class is a great way for you and your partner to learn how to make a cutting board. Each pair of students will get to choose a cutting board kit and then learn the tricks for a good glue up, how to use a router to clean up edges, how to get a smooth board using a drum sander/orbital sanders, what food safe finishes to use and will have the option of adding feet. Each pair of students will leave with a cutting board that they can cherish forever!
