Using molds, prepping wood, clamping and mixing for the pour are just a few things you will learn in this class. The second class will involve removing the mold, clean-up, sanding and finishing. This class will cover shop safety and the proper use of a lathe by making a basic bowl from start to finish. To minimize drying times so that the student can finish their bowl in a reasonable amount of time, we will be using dried bowl blanks. We will also discuss various finishes to add some personalization to your bowl. Once finished, you will be able to enjoy your bowl for years to come. Note: This class utilizes Easy Wood Tools with carbide cutters. If you prefer classic High Speed Steel (HSS) tools, bring your own or inquire within when attending class.

We will discuss design, techniques, and proper tool use, and you will learn the math required to create an appropriate list of cuts. This class will cover many different construction methods of creating a drawer box for your cabinet. We will discuss the layout, drawer guide hardware, building techniques of a drawer, and how to use the table saw, router table, miter saw, and hand router to construct the drawer box. Wood will be provided for the project.
The first step in building cabinets is constructing the "box" or carcass. In this, hands-on, class you will learn the proper techniques to create a strong and durable cabinet carcass. Joinery and assembly techniques for most cabinet applications will be discussed. The Kreg Jig will be demonstrated and used for the face frame assembly. Bring a notepad and a pencil, you’ll need them. Wood will be provided for the project.
Day one, students will prep their wood, learn about molds and pour their epoxy. Day two, students will demold their work, cut to size, shape, sand and apply cork backing. Students will leave with a finished product they'll love to show off!
