Grex Airbrushing for Woodworkers

In this class you’ll be introduced to the most useful finishing tool you may not have considered in your shop: a Grex Airbrush. Designed specifically for woodworkers, this class will introduce you to the fundamental techniques of airbrushing as a finishing tool. This class will be taught by Raymond Wong, Grex’s owner and airbrush expert. In celebration of Grex’s 30th anniversary the class tuition is $30.00! What You’ll Learn: • Airbrush Components: Understand the different parts pieces, trigger types, tips, and components necessary to successfully integrate airbrushing into your finishing process. • Airbrush Media & Tips: Explore various paints, dyes, and finishes used in airbrushing, along with an overview of tip types and how they affect spray patterns and detail work. • Hands-On Application: Apply your new skills directly on wood surfaces through guided exercises, from prepping the surface to finish application. Join our Stave Bowl Woodturning class and learn the art of crafting beautiful, multi-layered bowls from staves of wood. Tuesday, October 7, 11 AM - 5 PM

Ready to Chop up the Season, with your Handmade Cutting Board, a perfect gift for giving or keeping. In this class we'll construct and finish a 10" x 16" x 1.50" hardwood cutting board. We will talk about design, layout and discuss unique construction challenges . Students will leave class with a fully finished board – sanded, finished, and a juice groove if desired.

Shaper Origin - Intro

Wednesday, October 8, 12 PM - 5 PM

The Shaper Origin is a handheld CNC. This unique tool is perfectly suited for inlays or simple carving. From personalizing a cutting board to creating an inlay in an existing floor, the Shaper has endless possibilities! In this class you will learn the basics of operation, file download / management and accessories. From our preselected library, you'll trace your first shape.

Inlay with Shaper Origin

Wednesday, October 15, 12 PM - 5 PM

The Shaper Origin excels at inlay. From carving a logo in an existing floor to inlay a sign or wall hanging, the Shaper’s unique programming capabilities mean you can inlay with confidence in hard to work in areas or projects with small details. Join Dennis to learn how to inlay with the Shaper!

Cutting Board from a Kit

Tuesday, October 21, 12 PM - 5 PM

Learn to create a cutting board from one of our project kits! In the first class, you’ll select your cutting board kit and do the prep work to glue up. We’ll review glue selection, best practices for glue ups, clamp selection, and complete the glue up. In the second class, we will plane and sand the boards, review finish options, and apply a finish. You’ll go home with a custom, handmade cutting or serving board. Size range will vary but most boards will be between 6-12" wide and 12" long.

Want to learn to work with wood, but don’t know where to start? This class is designed give hands-on experience with all major woodworking tools including the table saw, jointer, planer, drill press, and a variety of hand power tools. Participants will complete two projects designed to teach practical use of the tools. Upon completion, you’ll feel confident enough to not only use all of these tools, but to make wise purchases of your own tools. Attendance is mandatory for the first session, and a material/supply fee of $150 is due at the first class, paid directly to the instructor. All you need to bring is your creativity!

Kids Pen Turning with Jon

Saturday, October 25, 9 AM - 1 PM

This special class is designed for kids interested in learning pen turning on the lathe. Requirements: Students must be at least 4 ft tall to safely see over the lathe. Minimum age: 8 years old. A parent must remain present for the duration of the class. Safety is a priority: Closed-toe shoes are required. Long hair must be pinned back. No baggy clothing. Each student will turn their own pen under Jon’s guidance, creating a one-of-a-kind project to take home!
