Cutting Board from a Kit

Tuesday, November 18, 2025, 12 PM - 5 PM

Learn to create a cutting board from one of our project kits! In the first class, you’ll select your cutting board kit and do the prep work to glue up. We’ll review glue selection, best practices for glue ups, clamp selection, and complete the glue up. In the second class, we will plane and sand the boards, review finish options, and apply a finish. You’ll go home with a custom, handmade cutting or serving board. Size range will vary but most boards will be between 6-12" wide and 12" long.

Bowl Turning with Carbide Tools

Few things in woodworking are as instantly satisfying as transforming a rough, blocky piece of wood into a smooth, beautifully shaped bowl. In this class, you’ll use carbide turning tools—no sharpening required—so you can focus entirely on the creative process, not tool maintenance. You’ll learn the fundamentals of lathe operation, safety, and carbide-specific turning techniques that make the process approachable for beginners and enjoyable for all skill levels. By the end of the session, you’ll take home a finished bowl you’ll be proud to show off to friends and family. 🔧 No experience necessary—just bring your curiosity and a willingness to get a little dusty!

Create a cutting board from one of our project kits! Project kits have a variety of wood species for you to choose from. In the first half of the class students will select their cutting board kits. Then we’ll review glue options, best practices for glue ups, the use of cauls, clamp selection, prep the materials for glue, and complete the glue-up before a one hour lunch break. During the second half of the class, we will plane and sand the boards, review finish options, and apply a finish. You’ll go home with a custom, handmade cutting or serving board. The final size of cutting/serving boards will vary, but most boards will be between 8-12" wide x 12" long x 1.5-1.75” thick.

Intro to VCarve

Interested in utilizing CNC technology to create your projects? Join Phil to learn how to get started being productive with basic 2D CNC functions using VCarve software. He'll introduce you to VCarve, the software most CNC users use. He'll also cover the basics of a CNC -what they do, how to mount and execute projects, and how to optimize projects for carve time. During the class, you'll follow along as Phil sets up CNC files, teaches basic 2D operations and project generation in VCarve, and then uses a CNC for some carving. A great introduction to help you get jumpstarted in CNC.

Turn a Bowl with Traditional Tools

Epoxy Poured Charcuterie Board

Part 1: Saturday, January 24, 2026, 10 AM - 1 PM

Make an eye-popping charcuterie board with an epoxy poured center. Building molds, prepping wood, clamping and mixing for the pour are just a few things you will learn in this class.
