Making A Resin Blank and Pen

Part 1: Thursday, June 4, 2026, 2 PM - 6 PM

Part 2: Saturday, June 6, 2026, 1 PM - 5 PM

Customized pen blanks give you the opportunity to really elevate your pen making. In this two part class you will learn how to cast a pen blank – and then turn that blank into your own custom pen! Week one will focus on resin casting basics including resin types, colorants, molds, and pressure pots. You’ll select colorants, mix your resin and pour it into the mold. Then, in week two, you will come back to the shop to de-mold your pen blank, drill it, insert the tubes and turn your pen!

Cutting Board from a Kit

Tuesday, June 9, 2026, 12 PM - 4 PM

Learn to create a cutting board from one of our project kits! In the first class, you’ll select your cutting board kit and do the prep work to glue up. We’ll review glue selection, best practices for glue ups, clamp selection, and complete the glue up. In the second class, we will plane and sand the boards, review finish options, and apply a finish. You’ll go home with a custom, handmade cutting or serving board. Size range will vary but most boards will be between 6-12" wide and 12" long.

Shaper Origin - Intro

Wednesday, June 10, 2026, 12 PM - 4 PM

The Shaper Origin is a handheld CNC. This unique tool is perfectly suited for inlays or simple carving. From personalizing a cutting board to creating an inlay in an existing floor, the Shaper has endless possibilities! In this class you will learn the basics of operation, file download / management and accessories. From our preselected library, you'll trace your first shape. Class can be increased if student has their own Shaper Origin.

This relaxed, beginner-focused lecture is designed to take the intimidation out of using hand tools and show you that anyone can learn this classic woodworking joint. We’ll walk through the basics of what dovetails are, why they matter, and how to approach them with simple tools and a step-by-step mindset. No prior experience with joinery or hand tools is required—just bring your curiosity and a willingness to learn. You’ll leave with a clear understanding of the process and the confidence to start practicing on your own.

Scroll Saw: #1 Dad- Father's Day Gift

Participants will build a wooden "#1 Dad" sign that makes the perfect keepsake gift or memorable project to create together with dad. This hands-on class is designed for all skill levels and will walk students through the process of shaping, sanding, assembling, and finishing their project. Cutting Board

Ready to Chop up the Season, with your Handmade Cutting Board, a perfect gift for giving or keeping. In this 4 hour class we'll construct and finish a 10" x 16" x 1.50" hardwood cutting board. We will talk about design, layout and discuss the unique construction challenges . Sanding, finishing and adding a juice groove, if desired, Stop by Woodcraft to check out the finished example of this cutting board. Dennis will be happy to answer any questions you may have.

Turn a BBQ Handle

The 4th of July is just around the corner! What better time to make some BBQ and campfire tools. We will make either a Pig Tail for flipping meats or a Hot Dog fork, Focusing on spindle turning, you will be guided on how to effectively produce handles that have a multitude of uses. Learn the basics of traditional wood turning tools, lathe operation, tool sharpening, and perhaps a few "cheater" short cuts. Tools covered will include the spindle gouge, skew chisel, jacobs chuck and drill bits. Additionally, a recap of the basics of lathe operation, safety, and turning techniques and go home with a project you'll be proud to show your family and friends.
